Conor Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If we win at Old Trafford are we in the title race?
Cooger Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 We'd have to win at United, Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as winning all our other games - Including tricky ones like Everton. Even if we do all that, it's optimistic that all of United, Arsenal and Chelsea will drop enough points for us to sneak up behind them. I say no, but love the optimism.
Swipe Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Tyler was saying in commentary today that if we beat United, Arsenal and Everton we'd have to be back in the title race. Winning all three games would be fantastic, but still don't think we'd have any chance of winning it

surf Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If ManU win their game in hand we're 11 behind.Even if we miraculously beat Arsenal (away) and ManU (away) we're still 8 behind. There is no way, no way at all, we have any chance.

Winning all three games would be fantastic, but still don't think we'd have any chance of winning it If we win those, yeah maybe we will be. Right now - Now we're not. Concentrate on ditching Everton in the battle for 4th spot and keep our nose up for nicking third place if one of the others slip up.
lfc003 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I'll be happy if we actually manage to score at either Man U or the a*** let alone win

Bootle Buck Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Unfortunately beating Arsenal and Utd would open it up for Chelsea who seem to be able to dull out a win despite looking sh-ite. We never seem to get anything at Stamford Bridge.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) We had this thread last year except the games against Arsenal and Man Utd were at home. Cant believe people are looking at the title race given we are battling for 4th Edited March 15, 2008 by Rory Fitzgerald
Sion Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Some of our fans are absolutely crazy. We will not win the title. We have a chance of overtaking one of the teams above us if we get to at least 80 points (so that's drop just 3 points), and that's it.
Maldini Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If we win all our remaining games we might stand a chance, never going to happen though unfortunately.
Reggie Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 So frustrating looking at the table and seeing 6 draws at Anfield. Amazing that 59 pts is the most we've ever had after 30 games in the Premiership.

Nerik Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 More than in 05/06? We ended up with 82 that season which is one short of what we could end up with this year? Did we win all our last 8 games back then?
Jim D Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 After 30 games in Rafa's tenure: 04/05 47pts05/06 58pts06/07 54pts07/08 59pts
Guest Prongsy Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Those 11 f***ing draws, nearly all of which we should have easily won (because we dominated and played much the better football and had the best chances) are really coming to bite us in the a***. We're not as far away as the table suggests. A bit more attacking talent and we'll be very close.

stressederic Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If we end up in 4th and within 10 points of the eventual leaders, considering how the season has gone, I'll take it. It may be worth keeping an eye on Arsenal to see how long this wobble of theirs is going to carry on for.
Romario Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 If we win at Old Trafford are we in the title race?Haahaa

Maldini Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Our early form wasn't the problem, it was our mid-season-form that wrecked our chances.
