Andy @ Allerton Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Normally the bitterness and hatred of the man regarding LFC annoys me. In fact after 3 minutes and 15 seconds, I turned the sound off on the telly and put Radio City on - but the ridiculous delay of around 4 seconds (!) meant that it was un-doable - I either had to turn the telly off and listen to the radio, listen to silence or listen to the Bitter and (nearly crying at the end) Andy Gray. But then something happened. Usually he angers me with his unrelenting pettiness and obvious bias and disdain for anything LFC - he repeatedly put the boot in - but when he opined that "It would be great if Inter won here tonight" - followed by his rabid and continued crying after the second yellow card (Saying it was the worst decision he'd ever seen) and then going on to describe Liverpool as 'lucky' and then putting across that Benitez was 'just lucky' in Europe before belatedly and grudgingly admitting that benitez might have talent - but certainly had a lot of 'luck' as well. His every word with his Co-hort was obviously bent towards anything Anti-LFC and his desire to see the Italians score and prevail with his pathetic comments throughout actually made me laugh! I literally chuckled my way through the whole game - getting to nearly uproarious laughter towards the end where his increasing 'disappointment' with the Ref and then him nearly crying at the end just put the cherry on the top. Well done Liverpool FC - we've ruined Poor Mr. Gray's week once again. Marvellous.
Guest Prongsy Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) Do you remember the argument you and I had on RAWK about Andy Gray? I take any of the positives back that I said about him and emphasise the negatives. He's got 1000% worse over the past year. If sky were any sort of organisation, they'd look into him. But they're not. A real w*****. Edited March 12, 2008 by Prongsy
MFletcher Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 (edited) His inability to control himself during the Luton away game was pathetic. He was screaming in anguish as Luton knocked the ball across the six yard box. He shouldn't be allowed to commentate on our games because the bias is so blatant. Edited March 12, 2008 by MFletcher

He shouldn't be allowed to commentate on our games, because the bias is so blatant. you can just about accept it as commentators usually go for the underdog, but he is getting worse my theory is that he is still compensating for "you beauty" as it must have upset a lot of his everton fans!

I kept thinking when he (and Keys) were endelssly repeating that last night.... 'why doesn't anyone challenge that with the actual facts?' Are the rest of them that clueless? I would guess that of the possible 40-odd games or so Torres could have played this season he's probably not started in about 8, been injured for 10 and started all the rest. I don't know the stats meself but I'd put my house on my guess being nearer the truth than the opinions of the Sky, erm, experts. Edited March 12, 2008 by charlie clown

Guest Ant Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 three threads about this!? Yeah, Seriously now. We won Inter Milan, I couldn't give a s*** what Nelson Mandella would have to say on the matter, never mind Andy Fecking Gray.

If so, that is a disgrace, especially from a broadcaster who's paid a lot of money to essentially remain neutral.
Tyler Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Was that monkeys c**k Dunphey on RTE last night? yeah - they didn't have much time and he didn't say much main point was that money in england means that english clubs can buy better players 20-25 years ago torres would have been in italy and ibramovich in england lazy really have stopped watching them because what they say is tired and same stuff rehashed punditry should be about explaining technical details to the normal punter, analysing key moments with some insight but it turns into a lazy rerunning of conventional wisdom such as rotation, zonal defence, notions of who is and isn't a good player not based on form but on reputation or previous utterings i'm sick of giles talking about his day etc in his day games were slower, diet not important and players played because they got cortisone injections in hips and knees that mean some of them can barely walk now

I now equate the level of their bitterness to the corresponding success of our team. The more gutted they sound, the more successful we are. Carry on Andy Gray & Co, your pain is our gain.

Well done Liverpool FC - we've ruined Poor Mr. Gray's week once again. Marvellous. The worst one was during the first half when we got a free kick in our box for a foul on Skrtel. The replay shows the Inter player had Skrtel in a headlock, and Skrtel is trying to wrest his arm from around his head and old fat head says, 'six of one, half a dozen of the other for me there' What an absolute tw.....erp

Think he has some level of editorial input as well. my theory is that he is still compensating for "you beauty" as it must have upset a lot of his everton fans!Definitely.
