over two legs, with a distinct game plan to negate opponents and play to our own strengths, we are f***ing top class. i don't mind who we get in the quarters, would prefer to avoid an english side but then chances are we'd have to play one of the f*****s in the semis and / or final anyway, but we can do absolutely anybody over a two match tie. what a joy to watch we are in this competition.

we are the best in the business at it. i just hope Rafa can crack the league, because i firmly believe if he does crack it, we will enter another period of dom€estic dominance

i think he has it in him to crack the league. as we've said numerous times now, with budget to spend on top class and then a defined best side which he doesn't piss around with, there's no reason we can't challenge properly.

in europe though i don't think there's any manager better anywhere at getting a job done.

so he's not walked based on tonight? damn, matty would spontaneously combust.

Matty combusting would have put the cherry on the icing on the marzipan on the cake

it'd be great. like some monty python sketch, all that would be left would be a pair of smoking suede hush puppy brogues.

Exactly. Every time I get frustrated with Rafa, I think about the above and calm down.

As a money hungry owner, you would tihnk Hicks would offer Rafa a 10 year contract now. If we only ever finish 3rd or 4th and always do well in the CL, that would be enough to maintain his business plan.

"all 4 in last 8 again! rule britannia!" bloody hell it's different round here eh...

Particularly seeing as all four have never been in the last eight before...

Was wondering about facing another Premiership team in the next round.

The obvious thing to do would be for the opposition to treat it as a Premiership game played at 100 mph.

Trouble is, the ref would not allow it. Several of the bookings last night would not have been in the Prem, similarly a lot of the free kicks.
