This man has deserved Legend status in his first 6 months at the club. How many times has he single-handedly won us the game or got us a point we didn't deserve. Today He was magnificent.

Superb player, I tried to search for the thread Snorky started about if he would get 20 league goals or not this season, but could not find it.

 

Anyway, now I`m certain he will.

Without wishing to dampen the spirits, until he has a regular partner up-front who chips in frequently with goals, Torres could be Michael Owen Mark II.

 

At least one half of the equation is there, but it needs sorting next season else we'll be out of the race early doors again.

We need two more players in our squad of the same quality and calibre of Torres, ideally in attacking positions, perhaps another winger and forward who are potential match winners.

This is our perenial problem, without the money to buy 2 more quality players we will always be in the same place

Not yet he isn't.

 

And even if he was, that isn't going to solve the problem of a regular partner (preferably a number 10) upfront who chips in regularly with goals. As stated.

Couldn't agree more. I just can't see us getting another striker who can score goals. If there's one out there, you can bet Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelski are monitoring him as well. Pity we couldn't have gone in for Tevez as well as Mascher.

His third goal today came about as a result of the sheer terror their defender had when he realised Torres was bearing down.

Apparently the first timne for 5 years LFC have had a player score in excess of 20 goals in a season.

 

Gerrard scored 23 in 05/06, but a few of them (at least five) came in the early CL qualification rounds.

has anyone got a video of him after he scored his hatrick, outpacing (i think it was) wheater and shooting across goal but saved and tipped around the corner?

Did the keeper get a touch on that one?

 

I cant remember properly but I thought he put it wide.
