He always wins the ball, often making it look as simple as stealing candy from a baby. And he seems to be everywhere - Are there 2 of him? That's what could be holding the deal up.

He is a world class performer in his positon. Everyone must recognise that he will not win games, he will win everything coming towards his defence and allows somone like Gerrard to go forward.

 

Actually, feck what he can possibly do, lets rejoice in the fact that he is an animal in winning the ball and that his distribution is improving with every game, every so often he will ping cross field balls and they are getting better.

How wrong. Even when he's brutally, viciously hacked the guy to pieces he stands and berates the ref for giving a freekick. Thus ensuring the next one goes his way. If only more of our players had that desire

figuratively, not literally.

 

he slides in from nowhere to take possession and opponents just don't pick him up on their radar.

 

if he were a professional hitman, he'd be the kind victims would discover had struck, only when they felt the blood spurting out of their garotted throats. ;)

it also makes no sense to fork out £18m on a player you have on loan til the end of the season when you're flogging the club before that

It does if the money is coming from debt you've put on the club, it makes no difference either way.
