Shirohana Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Thought he was brilliant tonight, seems like getting the goal has given him his confidence back. Made up with the whole team tonight, we destroyed em.
fred Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 If I could've picked anyone to score the game-breaker tonight, I'd have picked him. WELL IN DIRK.
Foo Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I've stopped thinking of him as a goalscorer. So a goal last weekend and tonight has really shocked me.
Earl Hafler Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Poor first half, much better second, fortunate goal but after the last few months - pleased for him. Being asked to play positions which aren't his best
Guest Ant Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Poor first half, much better second, fortunate goal but after the last few months - pleased for him. Being asked to play positions which aren't his best Aye
Shirohana Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Every f***in match thread you slag him off. Pathetic. He played a massive part in our win tonight, if you can't see that then frankly there's no point trying to convince you.
Jim D Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Poor first half, much better second, fortunate goal but after the last few months - pleased for him. Being asked to play positions which aren't his best Pleased for him personally to get the goal but he is not playing in his right position. Man of the Match..........the 12th man, the crowd were brilliant!
gkmacca Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I'm thrilled for him. Whatever his limitations, he's clearly been going through a really bad time emotionally and mentally, but he hasn't hidden, and he deserves to really enjoy tonight.
CaptainXabi Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Is it me or did he look really happy on the left?
HL5 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Great Great result. What a performance. Masch was superb and Kuyt was sublime, great work rate and to top it with a beautiful goal. Gerrard's goal again was top drawer.I am going to have a really good evening now! Thank you Rafa and the boys.
Guest Machac13 Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Well done Dirk well done!! You have your confidence back now! Lets take it to em'!!
Guest Prongsy Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 He was very good tonight. I've stuck by Dirk from day one, although if he's not played in his best position then he should be sold for a specialist. I've always liked him (despite naming him to be sold ) and think he would score a lot of goals if he played up front instead of everywhere else.
Raj Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 f***ing get in there Dirk! Never hid and he had a good game. His touch and crossing were good.Oh, and f*** off to those who want to give him s*** tonight.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Kuyt was great tonight. He did really well down both flanks, linking up with Torres and Gerrard too. And even a bit of skill. Fair play to the fella, hopefully he can push on for the rest of the season.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 f***ing get in there Dirk! Never hid and he had a good game. His touch and crossing were good.Oh, and f*** off to those who want to give him s*** tonight. To be fair, he never hides.
Raj Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 (edited) To be fair, he never hides. I know, but I love the fact that he always wants the ball. Regardless of form.I am made up for him Edited February 19, 2008 by roegahnn
Internationinteroperability Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Pleased for him personally to get the goal but he is not playing in his right position. Man of the Match..........the 12th man, the crowd were brilliant! It was a joy listening to the crowd on telly! I've recorded the game on my new Sony dvd recorder and this really is a keeper! The noise was so loud that even Peter Schmeichel, Preben Elkjær and Brian Laudrup couldn't belittle it! GREAT to see Kuyt getting another goal tonight. Long may it continue!
dorgie Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Poor first half, much better second, fortunate goal but after the last few months - pleased for him. Being asked to play positions which aren't his best I agree with that. A few "ah ffs Dirk" moments in the first half, but definitely had a great second half.
stressederic Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Very pleased for him tonight. He may well not be good enough in the long run, but I can't understand how people hate him. He doesn't hide, he genuinely cares, and he tries his best. I can't hate a player for lacking quality.
Cobs Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 played well tonight, on both flanks and was a contender for MOM before his goal
