Liverpool fans daub training ground with obscene slogans attacking ex-chairman Moores

Last updated at 12:41pm on 19th February 2008

Liverpool fans daubed obscene slogans this morning on the walls of the club's Melwood training ground attacking former chairman David Moores.

Moores, who sold his controlling stake in Liverpool to American tycoons George Gillett and Tom Hicks in a deal worth £470 million in February last year, was denounced as "greedy".

The slogans also called on manager Rafa Benitez not to select winger Harry Kewell and midfielder John Arne Riise for tonight's crucial Champions League encounter with Inter Milan at Anfield.

They also demanded that Benitez, who has made a habit of rotating his players from match to match, should play his best team for tonight's European clash.

Club staff responded quickly by painting out the slogans.

I am suprised it has taken this long for the anti-moores stuff to start to be honest

Its his fault, him and rick parrys. No one advocates painting obsceneties about anyone them two pair of clowns are the reason we are where we are

We all assume it wasn't Rafa that did this the final act of defiance.

 @ the idea of Rafa creeping up at midnight in his trackies and a balaclava painting 'Riise out' before he turns up at training the next day.

Its his fault

Know that for a fact, do you?

Heard an alternative viewpoint recently - Moores could have sold the club for more (as shown by the figures being bandied about now), but went with what he thought was the best option for the future of the club.

But that kind of f***s your hate figure scenario, doesn't it

Where are we? £70 million spent on the squad and a new stadium on the way?

God the tripe you post sometimes astounds me

Its not just tripe, its a huge showstopping drama queen rant in one direction followed by a 180 degree turnaround in the next outburst from Huyton.

A couple of weeks ago Huyton was lambasting anyone who dared suggest anything was wrong. Rafa had been backed by the americans and they were building this great new stadium.

yes I do know that for a fact

Do you know why I know that for a fact, here is why

Moores sold the club to Gillette and Hicks. It really is that simple, HE chose gillete and hicks for an extra £500 a share

Moores could not have sold the club for more, there was an offer on the table from DIC which he had agreed on, but gillete came in with his mate offering £500 a share more and he decided he wanted more time to 'consider the offer'. He went with a bloke (Hicks) who wasnt even on the scene untill the last couple of weeks, he sold our club to a man he knew hardly anything about and an ex-bankrupt with harldy a pot to p'ss in in real financial terms.

Clueless to the very end he was, 1991 he took over Liverpool and it all started with souness who should of been sacked the day he sold that story to the sun, went through the co-owners debacle and ended with selling the club to this pair of f'ckin no marks. And he got £85 million for 17 years of f'ck ups that saw the club go from the champions to what they are now and sat on his ar;se while Utd ran away from us off the pitch.

Moores - do me a favour eh. He is more responsbile for the state this f'ckin club is in than ANYONE

Oh f*** off

You're acting like a spoilt child. You just need someone to blame and he's a convenient person to have a go at. Didn't hear you having a go at Moores the night we won the CL, or the FA Cups, or the Uefa Cup, or the League Cups, or finished second with the highest points total in club history.

Try getting it in to your thick head that no one person is to blame here - and if Moores did make mistakes, they weren't f***in' done deliberately.

And just what "state" is this club in, pray? Relegation-threatened? Bottom of League 2? Bankrupt and out of business?

Wind yer neck in you poncey drama queen

Hmm, a quality effort in mis-spelling one of our owners' names in two different ways! Good work

And yes, if you can't be bothered to spell, then why the feck should I pay any attention to your drivel?
