Guest Scot Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Disappointing result and I've gone real concerns over Rafa's tactics at times, but some of the threads on here are bizarre. 'Final nail in the coffin'? 'Sacked on Tuesday'? Jesus christ.

Mullah_Owen Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 The Americans where absolute t*** when they took Babel off And now Babel is a must for the starting XI. It wasnt so long ago you were saying why the f*ck did Rafa buy Babel when he had other needs and that he doesnt even look like a decent player. Rafa is damned if he does and damned if doesnt. I agree LFC supporters are a disgrace.
Cam Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Back in the real world.... Liverpool fans are renowned for the real knowledge of football and for being able to see past all the sparkling PR bullsh*t. We're loyal & supportive but not blind. We're not Newcastle. I know your post was meant as a "I'm good little superfan, aren't I?" but it shows you up, to be honest. Liverpool fans know when something's not right. Supporting through thick & thin is part of it all. But so is critical comment when it's merited & necessary. St James' park awaits you. We won't miss you.
madaboutlfc Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 The Americans where absolute t*** when they took Babel offif you cant see the bigger picture you than what can i say.. The team has lost all confidence because they do not know whether manager will be managing them next season

madaboutlfc Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 I didn't say that at allyou cant go both ways
Leroy Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 The players are to blame cos there playing week in week out with new team mates I think they may be better though if they played together more often. Does that make sense?
Guest ziggystardust Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 although knee jerk reactions are annoying it is becoming increasingly hard to keep faith in everything rafa. I for one couldnt name our best 11 and be happy that it was completely balanced.
crisps Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Even if we played 'well' today it doesn't matter, we got beat by f***ing Barnsley, teams like Pompey, City, Villa, Everton, Blackburn are catching us up. Even if we're playing like this in three years some people would still be claiming feckin 'knee jerk'. I can't see how things are going to get better at all. Rafa's had nearly four years now and we're no closer to winning the title than we was 3 years ago although we have better players and if that's the case, the management needs an overhaul.
CaptainXabi Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 if you cant see the bigger picture you than what can i say.. The team has lost all confidence because they do not know whether manager will be managing them next seasonI wonder how Real Madrid ever wins anything then. Not having that at all. It's one thing to trot out that excuse when we lose to United, but against Barnsely?
Caligula Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 if you cant see the bigger picture you than what can i say.. The team has lost all confidence because they do not know whether manager will be managing them next season I think you will find most players can't guarantee who they will be playing for next season. And I'd wager the vast majority couldn't care less. The bigger picture is this. Benitez has taken us as far as he can. We are all eternally greatful for Istanbul, but time marches on. At the moment we are living on past glories.
madaboutlfc Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 rotation did not result in our ginger left back not covering for the two centrebacks or Carragher being crap again
Guest Ant Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 if you cant see the bigger picture you than what can i say.. The team has lost all confidence because they do not know whether manager will be managing them next season I can see the bigger picture very clearly. I want the Yanks out, and they will be out sooner or later, but based on 3 full seasons Rafa has been at this club we will not suceed with him in the league as manager. He works to his ethics and what 'worked in spain', but they aren't working here and haven't done for a good few seasons. He is both stubborn and un-realistic. He's theory's are good as they are but not in practice, we can go on and on and on about why he should go or why not. But this problem was here well before the yank outburst, roation, team selections, systems, It's f***ing brilliant when it works but the last time we played proper football was way back in December v Newcastle? Make no mistake I blame the Americans for alot at this club, but Benitez manages this team, prepares this team and is with them 24/7, we should be challenging for the league. It's as simple as that and the players we have at our disposal should be doing better.
Red_Rob Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 It's knee-jerk. The problem with forums like this is that once something's said, it's said forever. I lost the head when they scored, f***ing lost it, and in the match thread said Rafa should go. It's the kind of thing that you'd turn and say to your mate as you leave the match, but calm down by the time you get to the pub, but on the forum it's there for good.

MFletcher Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 rotation did not result in our ginger left back not covering for the two centrebacks or Carragher being crap again Or Alonso looking utterly disinterested when they ran past him for the second goal. It also didn't force Steele to have the game of his life or for their woodwork to be hit three times.

My knee has been jerking for most of the last 2 seasons. We don't know how to win.

Embarrassed more by them than the result Oh behave yerself. You can't love the team and easily accept that. The buck has to stop somewhere. The rot has to stop somewhere. This simply can't go on indefinitely. I've just got back in from the match and there weren't many lovin' the manager coming out of that game. You'd have to be insane to support him wholeheartedly at this stage.
Nebraska Red Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 the idiots on here who probably have not watched the match coming out with rubbish like sack Rafa.. ungrateful idiots.. Embarassed to have a cancer like that at our club.. if these idiots cannot see who started f***ing the team around then there arent bigger idiots in this world.. Embarrassed more by them than the result sure, there are some "over the top" reactions, but most people have voiced their concerns about our manager and the team for a long time. today was the final straw for many and it is understandable, we had a great chance to get to the next round and we f***ed it up because of selection , player ability and a lack of guts . the writing has been on the wall for a while as we have played like chumps for a long, long time and we have faded out of the title race , been knocked out of both cups, we are behind in the chase for 4th place and we have a monumental challenge in the CL. of course all the arsing around with the new owners did not help, but the manager is ultimately responsible for performances and he has to pick the best 11 to give us the best chance of a win. Rafa is not doing himself any favors with his stubborn selection policy and he will pay the ultimate price .
Jim D Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 rotation did not result in our ginger left back not covering for the two centrebacks or Carragher being crap again But the manager is responsible for tactics, motivating his players, working with the players on the training field and picking a team that goes out there to win a game. The buck stops with the manager FULL STOP.
