Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 A change of ownership and management is a must.
Internationinteroperability Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Snorky as manager and Ant as his assistant

Nebraska Red Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 McMahon and Grobelaar are giving it to Rafa. Their view is that he will be gone if we get turned over by Inter Milan. no shock there.
psl Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Mourinho couldn't do the job until next season.
Gomez Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 The best thing you could do is give Mourinho the job.Why wait whilst you could f*ck off and support chelski right now? Then you can all love him and ignore his obvious limitations together and we can get some restbite from your immature predictable outbursts.
alias75 Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Im a huge Benitez fan taking away the CL win he stuck his neck out this season against the owners and we may never know the importance of that, but the performances we're seeing this season simply aren't acceptable and ultimately he must take the blame. Yes we have too many sub standard players but even our average players are playing so below that you can only come to the conclusion that he's lost the players, they dont want to play for him and unless there's a mass clearout, the only answer is to change the manager. This is reminding me of what happened at Spurs, i have no doubts if a new manager came in almost overnight you'd see 5 or 6 players finding an extra 10-15% which is unacceptable as professional footballers but its the reality of the situation. The quality of our attacking players really is an embarrassment.

Where ever Mourinho is my heart will follow. Seriously though... £50 Million + Jose Mourinho would bring us alot closer to the title than Benitez could with the same.
MFletcher Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Our strongest team bar Reina, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres - and it's not as if Lucas, Alonso and Kuyt are bad replacements for them. This season has been unbelievably s****. Absolutely f***ing s****.
Mikey Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Rafa should be on the phone to Hicks right now thanking him for keeping him in his job, without the 'Americans' to blame where would he be exactly????? We've just been knocked out of the FA Cup by Barnsley at home!! And I've got to go downstairs into my pub and face about 50 shouting, cheering "Barnsley fans for the day"!!!!!
Guz Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I've been very supportive of the boss for the last 12 months but unless we win the CL I can't see how Rafa is going to be here next season, Yanks or no yanks.
Dave_the_Red Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Mourinho not for me. But Rafa has been the architect of his own downfal and should now pay the price.

This season has been unbelievably s****. Absolutely f***ing s****. Thats the point, they ARE bad replacements. I'll give the likes of Lucas and Babel a break, they've only been here less than a season and are young. But when was the last time Alonso had a good game? Kuyt isn't good enough either. Without Reina, Masch, Gerrard and Torres we are a joke. With them in the team its still hard because there isnt enough quality around them. Too many passengers. Riise Kewell Crouch

Make no mistake if DIC do takeover the club, they'll be extremely ruthless, Rafa may get 1 season with money to spend, but at the moment when you look at the quality of our play would you trust him with money to spend? Personally i put the majority of the blame onto the players, i have no doubts certain players have stopped trying for Rafa, and some of them are just so poor its embarassing, but ultimately its much easier to change a manager than 5 or 6 players. Sometimes things need freshening up, as we've seen at Spurs a new manager can come in and get more out of the same group of players im sure that would happen if Rafa would be replaced, but thats a short term solution, ultimately we need better players.
floyd Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Barnsley have won once away from home this year and lost 10.
ulsterRed Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Brings to an end a pathetic FA Cup run against lowly opposition. Really wouldn't surprise me if we beat Inter on Tuesday as it's the only competition Benetiz is interested in. Sooner he's gone the better for me and I've felt that for a while.
Nebraska Red Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Barnsley have won once away from home this year and lost 10. they need to play us more often.
Guest Ant Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Make no mistake it won't be suprising if we beat Inter Milan. But it makes me laugh that it's Benitez's genius that guides us in Europe, yet it's the American's fault for us being s*** domestically.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Alonso and Kuyt should be more than capable of beating Barnsley. At home. After being 1-0 up. Really, what a s*** season. True but when both are horribly out of form, it doesnt happen.

Would I trust him to spend the money wisely? Yes I probably would actually especially after the signings we made with big money last summer. But it just seems to me that there are too many average players in the squad who Rafa is just unable to get through to. Kewell, Kuyt, Crouch, Riise, Finnan and Alonso are all good players. They're not world beaters (Xabi is deffo the best of the lot though) but they've shown better form than they are at the moment and that's worrying because it's the same old players time after time. Yeah we can throw 3 big money signings into the side and to be honest I think Rafa would buy the right 3 big money players but something rotten has set into the mentality of the dressing room and it'll take a long time for that to be removed
floyd Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 We need DIC to come in, because this team needs some serious ins and outs.

Yeah we can throw 3 big money signings into the side and to be honest I think Rafa would buy the right 3 big money players but something rotten has set into the mentality of the dressing room and it'll take a long time for that to be removed I dont think its a coincidence that looking at those players than arent good enough, Kewell, Finnan, Riise they were here before Rafa arrived. Then you have someone like Kuyt whose effort you cannot fault but hes woefully out of form. Alonso is a tough one because hes always struck me as a great pro but something isnt right there. Crouch i think blows hot and cold, he missed some very easy chances today, and i do think being an English player he finds it difficult to handle being rotated i think thats a cultural thing. But its the managers job to get the best out of these players and whatever you say about the quality of these players that isnt happening. If people like Riise or Kuyt were playing close to their maximum even if thats not good enough then fair enough, the problem is we have 4 or 5 that arent good enough and are playing way below even that level.
dorgie Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 We need DIC to come in, because this team needs some serious ins and outs. Exactly. Stability off the pitch is the 1st thing we need. If new owners come in and are happy to keep Rafa, then I wouldn't argue with that. However, due to his poor premiership record over the past couple of seasons, I think he'd only have a year to turn it around then.
