We're going to get this put right - you're right we'll get silver this season and I hope we can do a double and get to Wembley and Moscow

we've got the players to beat any team on a one off game or a two legged european game. assuming they pull their collective thumb out of their rectum and start playing for one another.

I agree with both of your posts.

you've been to east london then. christ it's bleak and desperate isn't it?

It's like a post-apocalyptic holocaust that someone has then burnt down.

My first Liverpool game was away at West Ham in 1999. Trevor Sinclair scored the only goal. I was sat in the home end and we had a goal disallowed because the ball had gone out before Owen cut it back and I cheered.

Thankfully I didn't get beaten up, but I cringe thinking back on it now.

we're going to win a cup this season. it was really cold. east london is like an episode of the prisoner.

Shyte fans, they are. Most noise they made was to boo off Boa Morte. They also booed Benayoun, as you'd expect from small-time supporters, Carra and Gerrard ("You let your country down" b****x)

It was, in the main, another anemic display. We only started playing when Lucas came on, after which we took the game to West Ham and should have won it. Aurelio was pi55 poor, as was Kuyt (surprise, surprise), Kewell and Alonso for the first hour. Carra's poor season (and passing) continues, but I thought Hyypia was exceptional again.

Rightly or wrongly, the off-the-field problems are having an impact on it - the players just seem shadows of their former selves. I still have loads of faith in Rafa, though, and am convinced we can get back to normal once (if) the ownership issue is sorted out. But he somehow must lift the players, before we drop out of the running for fourth, and he really needs to either sell or, ideally, play Crouch.

lucas was a bright spot, the lad deserves a run of games.

I haven't seen any of the match, and didn't realise MOTD was on tonight so I've not seen his performance this evening, but I do rate him a lot.

His pass out to Torres was Gerrard-like - outside of right foot and then gunned it into the box to meet the cross. He has really started to show a bit recently. Hope it continues.

Harry Kewell is gash though

Just back myself. Bloody awful night all round.

But I'm seeing this through to the end.

We will look back in May and wonder how some of us kept our heads through all this.

A quick glance though that other thread and I feel sick at some of the comments. .

G and H must be pissing their pants with delight at how quickly the worm turns.

Mission accomplished, I'd say.

Aye. Such a shame that with what's going on at the club, people are more interested in seeing Rafa sacked. I'll feel so much better when it's just G&H&P in charge

Tetti,

Give me something tangible to cling onto, tell me that all of a sudden you can guarentee that we'll go on a run and win our next nine games and not 2 like the last nine games. Because I see nothing on the park that makes me believe this is going to happen.

its not going to happen.. the only hope is if G&H are out.. If they arent Rafa has to go because his position is untenable under them.. Its been a disasterous season.. RP reckons DIC would take over us soon so who knows

Agree with Tetti 100%.

But there are problems with that team, there is something very very wrong with the players on the pitch - and I don't believe it's "just that they're lacking a bit of confidence".

One specific grumble from last night - Harry Kewell. It's like watching Vlad in has darkest (most cowardly) days. Always hiding, won't take a player on - basically he is bottling everything.

Which is one of the reasons why some people think Rafa may not be the right man for the job. Kewell just hasn't performed consistently since he joined - for all sorts of reasons - but Benitez seems to see him as one of a core of players he will draft in almost regardless of fitness for important games. Its like he has a blind spot to the actual form of some players and refuses to accept that they aren't playing as well as they are supposed to. Almost like he has an idea of what they are and wont let evidence spoil that idea.

I'm standing by Harry Kewell, and will not forget that he was once one of the best players in Europe.

When HK recovers his form (and it takes time after long injuries) then some of us will be able to say we kept our HK supporting heads high in the darkest of hours, and saw it through with Harry to the bright shiny day when he single handedly won Liverpool's 5th European Cup.

It feels good to be loyal.

Who do you think he'll be playing for when that happens??

You're deluded, Davey lad. Name me one game where Kewell has played well in 4 years cos I'm struggling to remeber even one ok performance not even a good one.

Good to chat with you though, mate.

That's patently rubbish mate

His first season he was on 11 goals by Boxing day when he got injured against Bolton

So no matter what's happened since your point is untrue

I'll stand by him because he is my favourite player and that means I am being irrational. I still think he had a set back on his groin after the wigan game. He missed 3 games and looks even worse now. However I think he should be tried in the hole with Torres. Why you ask?

- He is not quick enough ATM to be effective on the left

- last night when he ventured inside in the 2nd half he showed some intelligent/creative touches that we need badly.

- He can hold the ball up as opposed to Kuyt who was terrible by his own shocking standards in the 1st half.

- Harry and nando appear to think alike.

BTW I didn't think Harry was as bad as some made out last night. Admittedly he shirked a few challenges but IMO he is being cautious with his injuries worries and the times he didn't challenge were IMO lost causes, as in he would of given away a foul and risked injury. On top of that how many times did we pass the ball to him in the first 30min? f*** all.
