3 days of the window left

Bit boring this window, only Chelsea have really splashed the cash. It's come to a point now when clubs will only really buy in the summer unless this stupid cuptie rule is binned.

The £17m for Mascherano IS inclusive of wages. It isn't his 'transfer fee', so basically he's costing hardly anything, just a few million to MSI. No doubt they'll say its £17m as it looks like they've splashed the cash (like the £26.5m for Torres).

The main hold up isn't the money, it's the legal minefield they have to plough through to register him without leaving themselves open to problems with the premier league.

LFC have already laid out around £15m on the four different stadium designs, and to the company they've hired to liaise with the builders/architects. All this and still not a single shovel in the ground.

Tom Hicks was the ONLY person involved who wanted to go with the design they've chosen. Parry, Gillett and the company being paid by the club to advise them about the stadium all wanted the stadium designed by the Manchester based company, but Hicks insisted on going with his guys (I'm actually with fat Tom on this one).

We'll probably send another couple of kids out on loan. One will probably be Nemeth as punishment to the fans.

And bring in some 14-yr-old starlet.

That's it.

I still don't believe this. It begs the question why hasn't this deal been signed earlier if he's costing just £8m max.

You think he's only going to be on 35k a week or something? Doubtful.

Apparently it's because he'd still be owned by MSI and this is against the rules, so we've to find a way around this.

You don't say. Huyton_Red has crawled under a rock.

What has the January window been like since its inception though?

I doubt there are a lot of big moves - majority of decent players are not going to moving clubs mid-season. Most top teams are challenging for titles on various fronts so there isnt much room for maneuverer.

Why wouldn't we just re-use whatever precedent ManYoo used when signing Tevez? If it's water tight for them then we are in the clear then also?

I'm still waiting for the Atletico left back to arrive. Elisha dropped one of his hints a while back, but there's been nothing on it since.

I wouldn't be surprised if he came in around the 30th and Riise left to a team like Villa for £6M-odd.

He's on loan to them too.

With all the other stuff that's going on right, amazing to think the window has nearly passed with little action.

Can't really see much happening now given the finances etc. but maybe we'll get a nice surprise or two (I'm hoping for Riise exit mostly).
