Mr Parry was in the starbucks in Borders, Cheshire Oaks. He was with his son and I had a quiet word with him to ask if he knew what Hicks was playing at. He obviously knew nothing but he said 'something's got to give'

I left Parry alone to stew, he looks like he's aged 20 years lately, he looked seriously miserable. I heard him talking on his mobile 'I don't understand why it wasn't on telly.' Then he went off to the outlet village, probably for some discount fashions.

Parry seems to have been completely sidelined, don't know if he has but thats my impression. I'm sort of glad Hicks has got a PR firm handling his business rather than sending out Parry doing his bidding.

I actually feel sorry for him

Behave, you reap what you sow. I thought I have taught you better.

I can't see anything to reproach him personally for, yes he f***ed up perhaps, but hindsight is a gift only available to those who dont have to make decisions.

Like the clown references though - quite apt really

It looks as if he's spent the last 6 months trying avert greater catastrophe. Must be terrible to have that on your conscience, be trying to help the club in the face of so much abuse, yet be unable to speak to anyone about it.

why is parry responsible for gillete and hicks? he isnt. he is an employee of the club. the owner of the club decides who he sells to.

parry was at fault over the ticket debacle, and for the problems with stevies contract. however i cant think of anything else.

Parry is the CEO of the company and he was in charge of finding an investor. It wasn't David Moores on Thai TV looking like a Saddam Hussein prisoner. He f*cked up royally.

Thats what was strange when I saw him today. I've been really angry with him over the way the clubs business has been handled but he looked full of sorrow today. Maybe part of that is his natural demeanor and he's just got 'unhappy bones' but you just got the impression that he was broken hearted. Thats why I left him and just had a quick chat with his son. His son did say about Hicks 'I've never met him, he's never over here but something's got to give'

Maybe Rick Parry is in there, realising he's made a mistake in selling to Hicks and Gillet and he's doing all he can to try to sort out the mess.

If they sack him and bring in their own man then maybe we'll have even less sanity in the boardroom and less chance of ousting them.

Odd thing to say to the product of your own seed sowing :hmm:

He checked out Shinawatra personally and then didn't go with him - how's that a royal f*** up?

Very debatable whether he was much at fault over Stevie's contract either. Our lack of general competitiveness in the marketing department and the general lethargic pace of change has always been a question mark but certainly, there was little that can really be aimed at him over the G&H takeover (once one actually looks at facts etc!).

The thing about Rick Parry is that, whilst he may very well be incompetent, I don't believe he's done anything malicious in his time as Chief Executive.

It's much the same reason that I can't hate players like Salif Diao. Yes he was s***, but thats not his fault.

1. The royal f*** up I referred to was G&H.

2. Parry didn't turn him down, Shinawatra cancelled the deal because he was only being given one place on the board.

3. In allowing Shinawatra to publicise the "deal" he brought our business into the open and allowed our club to be embarrassed. I mean there was even talk of a lottery in Thailand to win shares in LFC.

4. I found out about Hicks' past calamitous investments in football clubs after a quick google search, why could Parry not do this?

How do you know that he didn't? We know that Moores didn't want to sell to Gillett, for example, and we know Parry refused to answer Gillett's calls. Don't forget, once DIC walked away, G&H were our only option on the table?
