uppsala Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Was in the kop last night and when the words finally got round it sounded great. I was told last night the words are "they don't care about rafa, they don't care about fans".. thats what I was singin. Just been told it should o been "we don't care about parry, he don't care about fans" Which is it?
Falconhoof Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The first one.Parry is secondary in all of this, he'll be out anyway.
Ronnie Whelan Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 The end of the first line came across a little muffled until it done the rounds again in the second half when it sounded like Rafa.
Guest Snorky Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I thought it was: They don't care about Rafa, they don't care about fans.
Gomez Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 It is Rafa. Singing about Parry would be spectacularly missing the point.
Gomez Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 And, as a song, it doesn't scan very well. It would have been much better had it been "Liverpool FC is in the wrong hands"
jon_hall Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Daily Post reporters are oblivious to what was sung. But then again the standard of journalism and simple proof reading of their articles shows a 5 year old has the job.
Kop_90 Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 I for one was disgusted with the singing of this song last night, Or to be specific the time spent singing negative songs. We all moan about the owners bringing private matters into the public arena. last night many fans were just as bad. the odd rendition of this or other negative songs i could live with but not all night. I for one could see the effect it had on the team. Keep your protests away from the match, support the team. the last thing we want is to be in the papers for the wrong, non-football, reasons and last night we fell into the tabloid trap. Some nice photo's for the press and fuel an the argument that we are now the laughing stock of the prem. Protests are for Newcastle fans and other 2nd rate teams. Get a grip, those songs about yanks and Tom Hicks big fat head are not funny and do not support the theory of "Best supporters in the world". We can influence the direction of the club but make it positive and not like last night. embarrassed i was.
Frosty Jack Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 to be fair the owners had to hear it loud and clear, beyond a doubt. i agree bringing parry into this is pointless.for all we know, he knows he f***ed up and is trying to save the situation while keeping his job. if he's fired then he cannot make amends for he and moores catastrophic mistake a year ago.

Guz Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 How on earth can fans (en mass) influence the direction of the club outside of the area where they pay money to be heard?
Billy Dane Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 We can send letters, e-mails,stop buying merchandise, carry on with the efforts of the Liverpool supporters Network, bombard the press etc. All of this will help. We could also chant "We all hate Hicks" to the We all hate Mancs chant as well. A bit of vocal discontent would help as well.

But it isnt normal circumstances we're dealing with. The future of the club is at stake here, not just 3points. If these c**** get the loan, we will have to pay 30million every year just to finance it! Thats leaving the future of the club on very very shakey ground. Its ok looking at it with our "most knowledgable fans in the world" "above all that lark" hats on, but sometimes taking the vocal protest route is the only option that could make a difference. Its ok doing things behind our computers, sending emails etc, but its publicity and fan pressure that just might be able to make a difference here. And the best way of building that momentum, is by using the "world famous" Kop as the stage to do it. The Kop gets noticed. When papers report that the kop where singing against the owners, it has an affect around the world. The Kop is seen as the voice of our fans. To be fair the "tom hicks has got a big fat head" chant was sung once or twice by a small few, and it was a joke. The rest of the songs where to the point and made a statement, which the media everywhere has picked up on today. Last night was a great success IMO. For the time being, im happy to put on the pitch matters to the side, if it means ridding the club of them two.

Yes, in an ideal world we'd have "support" songs booming out as loud and for as long as the "protest" songs were, but when was the last time that happened in a League game at Anfield? There were loads of "Oh when the Reds", "Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool", "FOAR" etc 2) Whilst it's not "The Liverpool Way" times have changed. We don't have the likes of Sir John Smith, Peter Robinson and the like keeping the club ticking over in the background any more. We have two clowns who could destroy this club as we know it and bring it crumbling down around us, leaving us in possibly crippling debt, and god knows where on the pitch. Where else can our feelings be made known? We've been lied to and that's totally unacceptable. 3) Whilst the current atmosphere and environment may have an impact on the team, I'd actually argee that in a way it actually took some of the pressure off the team and the manager. Can you imagine the boos at the end of the game if we'd had this run without a win and there wasn't this protest atmosphere? That would have been all over the press and piled the pressure on Rafa and the team, even more so than now. I'd also argue that I'm willing to make small sacrifices in the short term to protect the club in the long term. And to do that we need these 2 liars out of our club. I'm not for one minute saying that DIC are going to be our saviours - they are an investment company after all - but with what the Americans have done (especially after all the false promises) we need them out!! 3) I agree about the "fat head" chant. Funny at the right time and right place, but diluted the effect on Monday.

The owners have run the clubs name through the s*** and have stamped all over 'the Liverpool way'. This is the quickest and most vocal way for the fans to be heard. We were the laughing stock of the prem before Monday nights game and have been for a while now largely down to the current pair of cowboys who now own the club. The situation has reached critical mass and protest is inevitable. Pressure has to be brought to bear on these yahoos and the more the better. Perhaps for the next game non-attendance would be a suitable ramp-up, with boycotts of the club shop etc. The supporters need to be united on this the more pressure brought to bear the quicker these eejits can be shifted. The last thing we want is to be sitting 12 months down the line with the yanks in place and the club in s*** and saying to ourselves if only we had made a bigger noise.
