Mark Clattenburg of Newcastle will referee only his second game at Anfield of his career as we play Aston Villa.

His previous two games have both ended up 1-1 draws, a last minute goal from LuaLua gave Portsmouth a share of the points in December 2004 and Craig Bellamy's first goal in a red shirt cancelled out an earlier Benny McCarthy strike.

Wouldn't that make this his 3rd game at Anfield?

Will Carson be allowed to play?

He did not play the first one at Villa Park.

No, as he's still on loan. I was hoping they would try and buy him outright during this window before the game so that they would be able to play him.

I would imagine a deal may be done to complete next week.

But with the ownership "thing" who knows?

Yes I know he is still on loan, I was just a bit confused if there was a rule that prevented the players on loan to play against their own club or if this would be an agreement between the clubs involved.

This rule changed two seasons ago if I remember correctly, but I cant remember to what out of the two options, but it looks like he will not be allowed under the new rules then.

It changed from agreement between the clubs to forbidding it in all circumstances.

I like it that the first thing you do at 2am after having a few beers is to head for the YNWA news page. That's dedication.

He's online looking for porn.

Harsh on Sami, who's been much better than Carragher for months, but a debut at home against Villa would be a decent start for the Scrote.

Drop Hyypia in a match where we will be up against Carew?

I have a feeling that will never happen.

is right. villa have scored loads from dead balls this season, have laursen, mellberg etc, and we drop our best header of the ball?

Of course, it would be very risky to play Villa without fielding a goalkeeper.

This kind of negative thinking has held us back for years now

Why is everyone so keen to play a player who has never played for us before in a game against a team on the same number of points as us?

As Liverpool have drawn more games at home than they have won, and Villa had drawn more games away than they have won I feel a draw coming on..... :hmm:

That's us f***ed then, I remember you confidently describing how we'd beat Man City.
