CarraLegend Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 (edited) f*** sake Daniel Agger has suffered a recurrence of the metatarsal injury which has kept him out since September. Specialists have yet to confirm how long the Dane will now be out of action, but Rafa Benitez doesn't expect Agger to feature this month. The news comes just days after the centre-back was due to make a comeback in a reserve game at Blackburn, only for the match to be cancelled due to the weather. Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "We've had some bad news in that Agger has the same problem again. He was training and ready to play but yesterday in training he felt something, so we need to go back and start from the beginning. "It's not easy to say when he will be back. He is going to see different surgeons and then we will be able to analyse the situation." Asked if the defender was likely to feature in the next few weeks, Benitez added: "No, I don't think so." Aside from Agger, Benitez has a clean bill of health for the FA Cup third round replay with Luton on Tuesday night. The Spaniard added: "Fabio Aurelio is fit again and the other players are available." http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...080114-1353.htm Edited January 14, 2008 by CarraLegend
Whitey Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I hope our (Saturday) back 4 are now getting some performance enhancing drugs....could be a long few weeks if they continue like Saturday, and Agger or Skrtel don't make a miracle recovery/acclimatisation.
psl Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Really don't like the sound of starting again and going back to the beginning. Looks like a case of hoping he's fit for Inter.
RafaShanks Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Feckin hell. Good news would be nice for once.
Guest Si Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Reckon the Skretel signing was an emergency one then? I have a feeling they knew it might be a distinct possibility Agger might go down again.
Rimbeux Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Who was the poster saying we didn't need another centre half? Chewie?
RafaShanks Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Who was the poster saying we didn't need another centre half? Chewie? What do you expect from a wookie. Just to clarify: Skretel is not eligible for tomorrow night. Correct?
sutty Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Who was the poster saying we didn't need another centre half? Chewie? Barcamania!
Guest RedLegend Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Poor lad must have Kirkland syndrome.
Smith Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Feckin hell. Good news would be nice for once. Well, Fabio is fit!
Gilps Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 What do you expect from a wookie. Just to clarify: Skretel is not eligible for tomorrow night. Correct? Correct. The squad for an FA Cup replay can only be made up of players who were eligible for the first game.
Smith Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 ... Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "We've had some bad news in that Agger has the same problem again. He was training and ready to play but yesterday in training he felt something, so we need to go back and start from the beginning. No f***ing way, another four months out?
Gilps Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Barcamania! Which is doubly bonkers, considering how s*** he thinks all our centre backs are.
Gilps Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 For how long though? About half an hour usually
Hassony Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Which is doubly bonkers, considering how s*** he thinks all our centre backs are. he supports Barca, he probably thinks Puoyl is the best defender in the world
RafaShanks Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 About half an hour usually I had a look on Wiki the other day to see what his appearance record was like for us and previous clubs: Senior clubs1 1997–2000 São Paulo 52 (3)2000–2006 Valencia 66 (9)2006– Liverpool 20 (0) I know the above is only league games, but that's a shocking number of appearances over 10 year period.
Jarg Armani Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 the club is falling apart around our ears.
