why has his career stagnated for four or five years if he's so good?

I agree he has not really fulfilled his potential. Questiomarks over his body strength would be the main issue. The main reason he struggled for barca was apparently he used to get knocked off the ball to often, hes a slight guy. But his guile , pace and link up play has never been in question. Imo hes the type of player be need a striker witha bit of craft to help oout torres.

Think he could learn to hack it in the prem. He has got one of the best first touches of anyone and he's dead fast, that will help buy him time in the prem.

Dont know if Saviola is the answer, but anyone is better than Voronin - he has been utterly useless.

I know some people have lost faith in Crouch inclusing Benitez, but I think he has to be given some games now with Torres.

I'm not convinced that a forward who finds the Spanish league too physical would be right to play for us in the PL.
