stressederic Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 We didn't lose 2-0 at Charlton last season (Meet the Refs Section)
Guest Snorky Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 We didn't lose 2-0 at Charlton last season (Meet the Refs Section) Correct, I'll amend it now. Damn you copy and paste

Guest Kaizer Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 If we look at our stats away against Boro since the 99/00 season its absymal reading, we have failed to score in 7 out of 8 matches and off course only got one win in the same period because of this. 2006-11-18 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 0-0 2005-08-13 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 0-0 2004-11-20 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 2-0 2003-11-22 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 0-0 2002-11-09 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 1-0 2002-03-16 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 1-2 2000-12-26 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 1-0 1999-08-21 Middlesbrough - Liverpool 1-0 Our latest goalscorer in the league at Riverside is Riise who scored the winner after Heskey got the first in our latest win there. Riise is yet to score this season so maybe he finally will get one at Riverside again to help us get a win at a place we usually struggle, with Aurelio out once again he will probably start. I cant see Boro scoring, so if we finally can get that long awaited goal at the Riverside I think it will be enough to secure 3 vital points.
beejay Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 We've had a full week to rest and some key players even longer so we should be fresh. Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio & Arbeloa probably won't be risked so my stab at Rafa's team is : -----------------------------------------Reina----------------------------------- Finnan------------Carragher-----------------------Hyypia-------------Riise Pennant-----------Gerrard---------------------Mascherano---------Kewell -------------------------Crouch---------------------Torres--------------------- Subs : Itanje, Skrtel, Alonso, Benayoun, Babel
fred milne Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Reina Arbeloa Carragher Hyypia Riise Alonso Gerrard Mascherano Kewell Torres Babel Subs: Itandje, Finnan, Benayoun, Kuyt, Crouch.
Ethan Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hope Stevie is over his calf strain for this one

psl Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Hope Stevie is over his calf strain for this one Elisha said at the time that he'd be out for Luton and Boro but hopefully its improved quicker than anticipated.
Smith Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 'Boro fan from an interview on .tv: Who will you be worried about on our side? I suppose it depends on who Rafa picks. But obviously Torres is sensational. We saw him play here in a friendly for Atletico many years ago when he was a nipper, and even then he was frighteningly good. Big, strong, fast, fantastic skills, awareness and a tremendous finisher - he's got it all. I'm frightening myself just typing this. Love it.
Stevie H Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 any ideas on boro's likely side? they've got midfield injuries haven't they?
Bo Benn Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 ..................Reina.....................finnan Hyppia Carra Arbeloa Yossi Alonso Gerrard Kewell .................Babel.....................................Torres..................... I've been calling for the Torres/Babel combo up front for some time now. Just don't think Rafa fancies it, we've had plenty of opportunities to try it out but it hasn't happened so I don't it will. At least not for a while. Would love to see it though.

Bigal Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 I just want babel to score, in the home end, 2 people................BABEL TIME!!!
Bo Benn Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Can't see it working myself How so? I feel they are our most talented forwards in the squad. Both quick, both can beat defenders. Babel seems to have a good shot, Torres likes to run behind the back line. Torres scored a lot this season, Babel's also bagged a few especially coming on as a forward (although mostly in games that are basically over). If they can form a good understanding between themselves i cannot see how it could fail. It's super, it's marvellous etc etc

Ethan Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Gotta big Rockets up for the game at boro fuking Babelfish
Bo Benn Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 think you've nodded to it there, they're too similar. could see them getting in each other's way. bah, if they're good enough footballers they should be able to work it out. Also I would have Babel playing slightly behind Fernando, in that way they would have different roles and not get in each other's way. None of Dirk, Voronin or Crouch have had a spectacular season so far. Don't see the reason why not at least trying the FT-RB partnership.
