The liverpool way, ynwa, best fans, etc

Some of the fickle s**** you hear banded around these forums and some of the s**** you now hear at the games is all fitting hand in hand with the "new liverpool way" of the yanks that seems to be the total opposite of what liverpool is/was all about.

 

From now on, when people talk about the fantastic liverpool support, liverpool way, etc it will be just another footballing myth, its diying a slow painfull death. Youl never walk alone is sadly becoming less and less and has about as much meaning as zars. its now just song that is played before a game.

There are more thrills seekers at games these days though - natural outcome of more televised exposure.

 

I'm glad we're not Chelsea or Utd though. Or even Arsenal, come to that. Will we end up that way? Maybe.

he hasnt been playing well for 18 months, we have Mascherano and Lucas who can play there. i think one of either Mascherano andAlosno would uffice, as i think we have othe areas that need strenthening a lot more than central midfield. just my opinion, i dont reckon many will agree with me, but its just how i see it

The man has been f***ing injured for most of this season, and whilst having a dip in form last season was still quality for alot of it. Hes got alot more to his game than mashcherano, and to suggest that lucas, a man weve seen play about 6 times is better is ludicrous.

we dont need Alonso, Gerrard, Lucas and MAsherano for 2 positions. we are just going to end up with at least 3 of them pissed off about lack of games and no continuity in the side, which is what i think is exactly the problem we have now

I have been going to the game since the late 70's and believe it or not people used to moan then as well. It wasn't some paradise of universal happiness where never a bad word was said. Also, whisper it, not every game was like St Ettiene.

I said that I'd noticed that a few people had been criticising Alonso recently and said that in fairness, he hadn't scored or made any goals recently. I didn't say that I wanted him sold, which I don't. He's not playing well currently but he's returning from injury. I don't think its particularly unfair to assess a central midfielder's contribution partially on assists and goals however, whilst also taking into account the defensive side of their game and their contribution to our overall play.

He broke his foot (twice) this season, against Arsenal he dictated the game till he ran out of steam. Gerrard & Alonso are going to be sooooooooooooo good when Xabi and Agger get fit there is going to be a lot of humble pie consumed. Gerrard has finally started to look the part in the centre get a fit Xabi alongside him and we are going to start ripping teams apart at home.

 

IMO Mascherano is a direct replacement for Sissoko, Lucas does a bit of Gerrard and a bit of Xabi but is just a kid. Sell Momo buy Masch is my suggestion.

Absolutely spot on. Rafa has completed Stevie's training IMO. SG lately has been very disciplined and still scored regularly. No doubt our most offensive line up involves Alonso and SG in CM.
