Jezzman Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 (edited) Have a look at the stats below. The stats show how many games we've played with Rafa at the wheel where we've scored more than 3 goals. We actually only scored more than 3 goals in two matches the first season Rafa was here and this number of games have been dramatically improved over the last seasons and this year, we've actually already scored more than 3 goals in 8 matches. Quite impressive Seasons with Rafa:2004/05 (2 matches)Fulham-LFC 2-4WBA-LFC 0-5 2005/06 (3 matches)Luton-LFC 3-5LFC-Fulham 5-1Birmingham-LFC 0-7 2006/07 (5 matches)LFC-Reading 4-3Wigan-LFC 0-4LFC-Fulham 4-0LFC-Sheff. Guest Anders Honoré Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 you have to say we've improved our ability to 'kill of the opposition'.
Jezzman Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 I was actually considering to count the Besiktas game twice, as 2x4-0
_00_deathscar Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 you have to say we've improved our ability to 'kill of the opposition'. Apart from last night.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Apart from last night. keeping clean sheets is the way to go no matter what. Hasn't been too good lately.
Hassony Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 We're second in the goal-difference table. but I thought we are not attacking enough like chelsea and arsenal to challenge for the title and we only beat derby 2-1!
Coyler Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 but I thought we are not attacking enough like chelsea and arsenal to challenge for the title and we only beat derby 2-1!If we took six points off every other team in the league every year with aggregate wins of 8-1 we'd do quite well.
Jezzman Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 So 9 now... 2007/08 LFC-Toulouse 4-0LFC-Derby 6-0Reading-LFC 2-4LFC-Besiktas 8-0LFC-Porto 4-1LFC-Bolton 4-0Marseille-LFC 0-4LFC-Portsmouth 4-1 LFC-Luton 5-0
Guest spk Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 just a pity we arent improving under the rafa
Falconhoof Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 A 5 nil win over Luton Town, on the back of 4 draws in the league isn't evidence of improvement.
Gunga Din Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 just a pity we arent improving under the rafa yes, that convincing 5-0 win against a team two divisions below us without a recognised centre half and a half fit goalie should mean its back on.
Eskimo Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 yes, that convincing 5-0 win against a team two divisions below us without a recognised centre half and a half fit goalie should mean its back on. that's right ignore the other 8 matches...
Guest RedLegend Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 In fairness hammering poor teams doesn't mean all that much. Only stats that really matter is the stats of the league table.
Will Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 In fairness hammering poor teams doesn't mean all that much. Only stats that really matter is the stats of the league table.Of course, winning cups doesn't really matter at all
Guest RedLegend Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Of course, winning cups doesn't really matter at all I was going to mention cups but thought that it was pretty obvious that winning them would be a good thing rather than a bad thing so no further explaination was needed.
Jezzman Posted January 16, 2008 Author Posted January 16, 2008 In fairness hammering poor teams doesn't mean all that much. Only stats that really matter is the stats of the league table.Still we manage to score a hell of a lot of goals being this "defensive minded team" as some calls us. On top of the the games where score s***load of goals just have to be more entertaining than winning with a one goal to nil score all the time.... and what teams do you categorize as poor teams apart from Luton and Derby... the rest are decent teams who were kicked backwards out of the field by a magnificent red force know as LFC....
_00_deathscar Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 We should've thumped Newcastle about 10-0 too..
