Cam Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 The promising but untested Hobbs in such a big game? Uber-versatile Arbeloa? Could Riise follow Carragher and become a centreback legend? Captain Fantastic Gerrard? Can we recall Antwi or Roque? Or is it as simple as throwing Agger back in if he's anywhere near fitness?
CarraLegend Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Arbeloa or Hobbs, if Agger has properly recovered then go for it but if he's 80% or whatever then leave him, pointless risking him again just for one game.
stressederic Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 If it comes to sticking a midfielder back there, then surely it should be Mascherano?
Cam Posted December 26, 2007 Author Posted December 26, 2007 If it comes to sticking a midfielder back there, then surely it should be Mascherano?I did think of including Macca as I think it'd be fun to see him there. But he's 3' 6" and every tackle has to be a sliding one - a bit risky if he's the last man or he's in the box.
Ethan Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Hobbs and play Mascher and Xabi in front of him and Gerrard off Torres

Nerik Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Arbeloa or Hobbs for me. Pray to God that Sami is fit and/or Agger is fit enough.
Frosty Jack Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I agree with Big Wayne surely its time that Kippe gets his chance?

Will Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Hobbs without doubt Little Al is my favourite player, but I would not stick him in at centre back in the Premiership

Bo Benn Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Personally I'd rather have Kylie running along the byline
MFletcher Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 It has to be Arbeloa for me. Hobbs' decision making is very, very poor. Arbeloa has experience of playing centre back in Spain. Then we'd need to play Masch and Alonso to give them proper cover and allow Masch to completely shut down Elano and go from there. We're struggling at centre back at the minute. I'll have a panic attack if I see Riise at centre back on Sunday...

floyd the barber Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 arbeloa definetly, its his prefered position...plus i see the center back position to be his future with us.......possibly taking over from carra in the coming years..
Guest Kaizer Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Arbeloa without a doubt, if not, at least Riise will be able to cover for Carra`s weaknesses in the air and when it comes to commanding the box.
libero Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 In this order. Gemma AtkinsonKylie Minogue As long as I could play as well and I would play them in front off me so I could come in from behind...... I will get my coat
Jezzman Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Hopefully Agger will be ready... if not give a run out to Hobbs again...
Ombudsam Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 It's got to be Hobbs. He's a centre back you see.
