Jim Kirby (1929 - 2007)

I know quite a few on here know Dave Kirby....just want to let you know that sadly his dad passed away yesterday. A true proud Red for his entire life, travelling home and away throughout the 50's 60's and 70's he passed on his love for LFC to his sons.

 

A gentleman in every respect, with the courage of 10 men - fought, and won numerous battles with his health, including throat cancer just 2 years ago - but finally succumbed to pneumonia and passed away in hospital with his family gathered around him.

 

The kind of man that our clubs support was built on. Brimming with good humour and decency. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Met Dave a few times (and possibly his Dad) around the time of Hillsborough. Condolences Dave...YNWA Jim.
