According to one of the tabloids in Valencia, Superdeporte, Valencia will make a move for John Arne Riise in January. A bidding war with Martin O´Neill on the cards :)?

Radio Nacional de Espana The guy is saying that the transfer problem of Benitez was not Kakha Kaladze or Garay; the problem arose from a proposed bid for Valencia's David Villa.

The guy says that Rafa is negotiating a transfer with Valencia that may take place either in January or in the summer and that involves 23M plus Riise or Crouch (Valencia wants Crouch he understands). Apparently Valencia also want to buy back Momo Sissoko (no price given).

Dont buy that, both Rafa and Parry have let it be known the money signing was Kadladze, Rafa on record as saying he wasn't looking to spend money, might even make money in Jan. Next summer, who knows.

I'm going to go ahead and come up with a load of imaginary swap deals in my head, and somehow link us to Pablo Aimar along the way.

so somehow we need to get Real Zaragoza interested in Riise as well then?

I have a solution to this, you know:

Riise to Villa

Cisse to Valencia

Villa to Liverpool

Carew to Marseille

Everybody's happy, no?

everybody except Valencia and Marseille.

I always thought the Kaladze name was "given up" too cheaply - a throwaway target to throw the scent off who we couldn't get.

On the other hand - there has been no denial from the Milan or the player himself. Hence it may well have been true, - though maybe outdated - i.e. he's chosen somewhere else to go because of the lack of movement from us.

Perhaps, but that would indicate some sort of joined up thinking on the transfer issues between the manager and the higher powers!
