No predictions from me but it is good to see that the top 4 are only seperated by 6 points at the start of December.

I also think it is better to have Arsenal leading the race rather than Utd or Chelsea (i.e. proven finishers in last 3 seasons).

It'll be exciting if nothing else and we should be in the shake up, and IMO, thats all we can demand.

The fact that we have away games against the three others in the new year doesn't help, especially when it looks like being really close this season. We're gonna be in with shout though, no doubt about that.

Chelsea could suffer in Jan with African Nations absentees, Arsenal have a young squad and possible questionable depth & stamina - I haven't seen a reason why the mancs are going to derail dramatically. Can someone remind me please?

RP, surely eboue, toure, adebayor and the rest will be missing also for arsenal?

IMO thats a good thing. We have played some poor matches this season and eeked out very late points vs Villa, Spurs, Everton and Fulham. Had we been in such form away to the other 3 then we would have probably lost just like last season.

Now, we are in a position that Rafa probably sees as ideal. Rotating players so they are fresh for the later half of the season (though the 1st half isnt over yet) and still in the hunt. When we go away to those teams, we should have a good side that understand each other after months of settling in and maybe 4-5% extra in the tank compared to the others....maybe.

We're improving dramatically and Torres looks like he'll make a massive difference. Here's my prediction, if we mirror the Anfield results against the other three contenders when we play them away and Torres stays fit, we'll finish in the top 2. I agree with RP, no real to see Man Utd derail dramatically

Agree Arsenal will lose a couple of players too - but what about those pesky mancs (them being an odious bunch of c***s aside) ???

Far too early to tell.

If we're within 6 points still after the Xmas/New Year fixtures, I'll start thinking we can win it.

Chelsea aren't playing well but winning, Arsenal just aren't dropping points anywhere, and Mancs had a blip at Bolton but were playing very well for two months up to that.

We're improving, winning, scoring lots and conceding little. Good signs, but this could finally be the four horse race that's been predicted. However, I won't believe until we're still in touch after 20 games.

only toure and eboue. adebayor's togo didn't qualify. chelsea will lose drogba, kalou, essien, mikel though.

Its a possibility, but its a tough one. We are doing well, unbeaten, 3rd with a game in hand over second. But the compeition is tough. Arsenal look hot and dont seem about to slip up. United look strong and chelsea are still there and doing things a bit more quietly, out of the spotlight. Im happy with the way we are going though.

Drogba will be a huge miss for Chelsea and I believe Arsenal will suffer as you say - they play their best team week in and week out, they will be going into the unknown if they try to pass the baton to the younger guys in March and April and ask them to carry the team over the line.

The Mancs rotate just like us and as you question, could be just as fresh as us. Hopefully the injury to Scholes will affect them in tighter games away from home.

I think UTD are developing an Arsenal-like capacity to try and walk the ball into the net at times, and are still trying to work on this way of playing without an out and out striker. Strong for them that they spread the goals about, but may yet get hung up on leaning to one man's goals or lack of them should they dry up.
