mathewbet1 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 What do you think is an acceptable end of season goal tally for Stevie boy? (Hes been banging them in recently 5 in 7?) I reckon 15 goals plus is a good return , but given his high expectations is 20 goals too much to hope for this season? I believe if Stevie gets 20, and El Nino weighs in with 25 plus , then we could be knocking on the door.
Hassony Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 we have shared the goals around this season torres 10gerrard 7kuyt 6voronin 4yossi 5crouch 4xabi 2
Maldini Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 we have shared the goals around this season torres 10gerrard 7kuyt 6voronin 4yossi 5crouch 4xabi 2 we're a 7-man-team, what will we do if the 7 of them get injured?
AE Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 we have shared the goals around this season torres 10gerrard 7kuyt 6voronin 4yossi 5crouch 4xabi 2 Thought the Dutchman was the offical scapegoat?
Guz Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 (edited) 2 goals from corners by Stevie too - what's the world coming to! Edited November 29, 2007 by Guz
CaptainXabi Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 2 goals from corners by Stevie too - what's the world coming to!The set pieces from him are so much better this year all around. Not quite to the level where I get a tingly feeling everytime we get one (like a Lyon fan) but they are definitely effective these days.
stressederic Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 we have shared the goals around this season torres 10gerrard 7kuyt 6voronin 4yossi 5crouch 4xabi 2 You left out Babel.
Bo Benn Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Surprised (in positive way) of Benayoun's contribution. 5 goals so far in not bad at all. My concern with him is that he always seems to have a great game or a poor game, rarely any gray areas with him. Or that might just be my impression?
CaptainXabi Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 I thought Gerrard had 8?The official site says he does. It's 7 in the last 8 games plus Villa right? Should be 8.
Gary Wolf Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 How many did he score wfrom direct free-kicks last year? I feel like less than the current 3 already!
Jarg Armani Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Benayoun does have good days and off days, would say the same about voronin, he looks godawful at times, and turns in world beating performances at others. I feel like less than the current 3 already!what a strange sentence.

Hassony Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 3 goals in one game though. yes, hatricks are bad aren't they
Owen1978 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Just curious if your team mate was on verge of a hat trick, would you have taken that peno? i would have given it to torres to take.
Stevie H Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Just curious if your team mate was on verge of a hat trick, would you have taken that peno? i would have given it to torres to take.at 2-1 in a must-win european cup game? f*** off.

Senrab_nhoj Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Just curious if your team mate was on verge of a hat trick, would you have taken that peno? i would have given it to torres to take. then you clearly shouldnt be taking them in the first place HTH
honourablegeorge Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Just curious if your team mate was on verge of a hat trick, would you have taken that peno? i would have given it to torres to take. If we were three goals ahead, maybe.
L19red Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Just curious if your team mate was on verge of a hat trick, would you have taken that peno? i would have given it to torres to take.Only if you are at least 5 goals ahead and in the last few minutes of a cup tie. Heskey at Blackburn a few years ago convinced me you should always let your main penalty taker do the job. Never ever do it in a league game it could all come down to goal difference.
MFletcher Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 If Torres had taken the penalty and missed, and Porto had went on to equalise - there would have been an outcry. If the scoreline had been 2-0 instead of 2-1 then I'd have given Torres the penalty - but not with only a one goal difference.
growler Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 surely we can trust Torres with penalties? Why isn't he taking them anyway?
