...could be really useful. Sounds like an obvious statement, but this season more so than others, the better teams have gone on to win the group. Sure, things can change and the below is based on likely results in the last round, but as group winners we would likely get one of:

(Werder Bremen or Olympiakos)

(Celtic or Shaktar)

(Rangers or Lyon)

Roma

(Fenerbahce or PSV)

Sevilla

 

As runners up, we would be facing one of:

 

Real Madrid

AC Milan

Barcelona

Inter Milan

Our support taking over the San Siro and Bernabeu would be rather good. Nou Camp not so good as we've had plenty of games there.

 

Obviously theres easier ties than other but theres f*** all to fear.

You have to play the big teams at some point. And it'd stop the whingeing mancs from spouting their usual 'ah but you got there with easy games all the way through'.

Personally I prefer us playing a strong side in the knockout phases. We seem to lose the plot against "Easier" opposition. Remember Benfica two years ago and our "Easy" Group this year

Not much point dwelling over top spot now. We have to win the game anyway to qualify at all and getting top is out of our hands. Can't see Porto slipping up at home to Besiktas to be honest.
