maybe it shows how strong we are now....we played poorly tonight yet ended up winning 4-1.

We certainly looked nervous and edgy maybe no suprise due to the issues behind the scenes this past week...

Torres was again superb, kewell and crouch made a massive difference when they came on...

So it all comes down to the final game...easy, we win...we are through..simple as that.

Not many teams could beat Porto 4-1. They're a cracking team.

Goal difference should be what matters though and not head to heads.

Agree about Andy Gray.

No matter what we do, he talks negatively about us.

We should get a petition going to send to sky about stopping Andy Gay commentating on our games.

grays comentary tonight was pathetic...also thought tylers digs at rafa were completely out of order

not usually one to have a go at Gray but he was a feckin joke tonight

he loved the Porto goal and got bitter as f*** once we went 2-1

My manc mate texted me to say how bad Gray was.

Was one of his worst performances tonight. Thought Everton was the worse i've ever heard him, but he was just so pathetic tonight.

And as has been said above, Tyler now just goes along with him.

Hate him so much.

"And yet they still rotate him" after Torres' 2nd goal

And there was me thinking he'd been injured for 3 months

I know that confidence plays a big part in football for all teams but it seems to me that it affects us more than most. When we go ahead we often look capable of passing through any team yet go behind or concede likewe did tonight and we suddenly lose the ability to even control the ball properly. I know there's many other factors at play but it's just something I've thought about.

Souness joined in too.

Rafa made a mistake dropping Torres for the Pompey game (and Brum?) but since then has he been rotated when fit? don't think so.

Spoon fed them anything that supplements their bias, and they'll bite your hand off.

Its all becoming clear now,

when gray shouted 'yeeaahhh geeeet iiiiiinnn yoooow beauttyyyyyyyyyyyy' v Olympiciakos he was actually back scutteling Martin Tyler, it had NOTHING to do with Gerrards 20 yard winner - FACT

The boys on Irish tv were no better. Said that the team selection made no sense. Rafa panicked with his subs. Even criticised Rafa putting Kewell on. Dunphy is as big a muppet as Gray.

Anyway doesn't matter. Rafa, Rafa, Rafael, Rafa, Rafael, Rafael Benitiez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Torres is just top notch quality

a little side note.....

Rafa definetly needs to read up on the rules regarding how to make substitutions...since pakos gone, rafa seems to have had problems this season with getting the changes done "officially"....noticed a few times...

and if andy gray or martin tyler are interested in this brand new special dig at rafa...feel free to contact me.

The good stuff regarding the subs......fantastic choices he made.

Also souness....feck off, you dont rate mascharano!! pathetic!

See a lot of the time it's not something specific, it's like that. I do take your point that he's not always that bad, but I reckon tonight wasn't his worst case of implied bias by any means.

It really jumps out at ye the way Kewell gets on the ball and passes. He's a class apart and hopefully we'll get to see him running at players again.

In fairness he said he wasn't completely convinced, something I am guilty of saying a few weeks ago. Maschers passing lets him down at times but you could argue bad movement is the cause.

oh and when Crouch scored we got "see what happens when you mark zones and not players......"

f*** OFF!

 it was if it was a dig at us because we zonal mark...... oh wait

ah he's really gone out of his way tonight, he would have loved it if we loose cause he could have backed his sacking or something like that the f***ing c***

And, in comparison to others, how close he keeps the ball to his foot when he's running with it.

Completely. I know one of their sports producers, will try and get some idea of how to reach these. It's a bandwagon, it's easy to follow.
