Is Wenger a better manager than Benitez?

in the prem - he's a far more experienced and proven manager

in Europe - he's poor, in fact, he can only dream of being as good as Rafa in Europe.

in Spain - Wenger is s***, Rafa is great.

in France, Wanger's twelvty times better than Rafa, and in Japan as well!

I have no qualms about saying yes. He's done Arsenal proud, the way his teams play football despite not always having a full team out should be admired, and the fact they don't resort to kick and rush tactics.

That's no detraction of Rafa though, he's a top top manager, one of the top 5 in the game right now IMO.

Yes

He has achieved more, longer track record to put on the table. The nuances, such as who's the better coach, tactician, nurturer, trader, man manager, are harder to define and very open to opinion. Big factor is that Wenger has been around for longer, and is unlikely to bring forth more to enhance himself whereas as Rafa has every chance of surpassing him, even in his strong areas as his career continues and concludes.

he's not better than Ferguson. If we're just talking about managers from the Prem.

Wanger needs to do something of note in Europe to be considered better than most.

Yes, and that's no disgrace.

Wenger is better than everyone.

Slur has more league trophies and a european cup. He's set the standard for his peers in this league.

I think he's better than Ferguson. He's done it with less resources. He's also reached two European finals.

Better in the PL, nowhere near as good in Europe.

Why ? Ferguson's won the CL once. Flukily it might be added. Wenger also got to a final but lost it.

Pretty close run thing really. Again, it has to be said, look at their relative spends.

Wenger has set his teams up to exploit the weakness of the Premiership. The top teams are miles better than the other 16 - his teams exploit that to the maximum by playing quick, one-touch passing football.

At the business end of European competition, the opposition are not as poor and the players not as technically inept as the majority of the players they come up against in the Premiership. So far, his teams have failed in Europe, though they were mighty close in 2006.

I would say he is a better manager - the domestic league is always the main competition on which you are judged and he has a better record than Rafa.

I was comparing Wenger/Rafa, not Ferguson/Wenger

he has a wonderful idea of how to play football. He is fantastic at enducing players into his way. His success though is completely interdependant on other teams

I agree if you mean Wenger is better a better manager.

Rafa has done wonders in europe and not just at liverpool. Wenger has a hand over on Rafa on the PL but hopefully, that will change :)

Very difficult to say unless the managers switched sides and we saw what they achieved with respective teams, or managed their teams from the same time. Both however exhibit great but different managerial qualities.

Thats a very short term view IMO - since Rafa came here Wenger has overhauled his side. Campbell, Cole, Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg, Bergkamp, Henry have all left and he has rebuilt very well. In saying that, we have finished ahead of them this season and last season.

Have we? f***ing hell, is right. Who won the league?

Wenger and Ferguson have around 10 and 15 years on Rafa repsectively so its unfair to compare at the moment.

I personally think Wenger and Ferguson will go down as two of the best managers of the last 50 years.........

It's not fair to judge Rafa yet - Lets see what he done in 15 years time with / without Liverpool and judge him than.
