South Americans linked

In the Rafa/ G&H thread someone has gone off on a tangent about 2 South Americans being linked with us in recent weeks. Anyone know where that came from? Completely missed it first time round.

In the Times today it mentions that as well as sealing the Mascherano deal Rafa has made his own moves on Argentinian Ezequiel Garay from Racing Santander, no mention of his playing position though.

Lulinha looks a bit small. Nothing special from those clips.

 

Renato looks very good though. Big, quick, good skills and he looks like he can handle himself too.

 

Garay definitely wouldn't be one of those in the "free" category. He's going to cost quite a bit I think.

 

Steven Taylor I'm not sure about at all. He just gets injured too much and he's really not all that good from the few occasions I've seen him play for Newcastle.

 

Van der Vaart anyone? He's going to be sold this transfer window for sure.

i doubt lulinha or renato will come for free.both are very hghly rated.the mancs are reported to be very interested in renato,and a 8 mill offer rejected if im not mistaken.it was also said a few weeks ago that chelsea sent scouts to watc lulinha.

There was one report (in the times I think) that said Rafa wanted deals for 4 players sorted, Mascherano, Gary and "two south american youngsters" it could have just been a wild guess. I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere and we haven't been linked with anyone from South America in months.
