Montse Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Gawd, now starts the winter of speculation of the next lamb for the slaughter!
Siang Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Why? What's he done wrong? So soon too... the team needs time to gel together.. OH MY GOD OH MY GOD
Stevie H Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 'his reign is the shortest in english football history'. what's his payoff? couple of mill?
Hassony Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 international managers should not be given more than 2 years contract, and should be judged on their performance after the euros and the world cup its not like the FA were worried about Brazil trying to poach Mclaren!!!!!!!
Bailo Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 international managers should not be given more than 2 years contract, and should be judged on their performance after the euros and the world cup its not like the FA were worried about Brazil trying to poach Mclaren!!!!!!!They over-compensated because of their public courtship of Scolari, they had to make it look like they really really wanted Steve all along.
John am Rhein Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 'his reign is the shortest in english football history'. Is he the worst England manager of all? i.e. worse than Graham Taylor? I say yes.
Tosh Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Shame. A lynching and a hounding for a couple of weeks would have been far more fun for us all Has Barwick done the honourable thing and resigned too?
John am Rhein Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 They should appoint a Japanese manager. Then he can commit ritual suicide on the touchline with a sharpened FA umbrella.
Bailo Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Has Barwick done the honourable thing and resigned too?Only if he posted the sacking letter to McLaren and it got lost in the post. Clearly not, so he's safe
Stevie H Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Is he the worst England manager of all? i.e. worse than Graham Taylor? I say yes.graham taylor was at least a good, proven club manager. mclaren's been a dead duck since day one and the FA are to blame more than he is.
pipnasty Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 They should appoint a Japanese manager. Then he can commit ritual suicide on the touchline with a sharpened FA umbrella. Ha ha!
pipnasty Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 graham taylor was at least a good, proven club manager. mclaren's been a dead duck since day one and the FA are to blame more than he is. Am I right in thinking that Taylor was a pretty popular choice as manager?
Cobs Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 poor SCS if only he hadn't had all those injuries to key players...........
charlie clown Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 'his reign is the shortest in english football history'. what's his payoff? couple of mill? 2.5 according to the Grauniad this morning. I have decided to bollix my job up for the next 18 months and jeopardise all of my company's future revenues over the next 4 years in order to achieve a well-deserved pay-off that will see me straight for the rest of my life.
Des Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Am I right in thinking that Taylor was a pretty popular choice as manager? There were no arguments about his appointment at the time. He had a superb record in club management.

To be fair, that does happen to most incompetent CEOs.
John am Rhein Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 There were no arguments about his appointment at the time. He had a superb record in club management. That's right. Just goes to highlight how absurd the choice of McClaren was.
Cobs Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Is he the worst England manager of all? i.e. worse than Graham Taylor? I say yes.Taylor's qualifying record was even worse than Maclaren's 2 men sadly out of their depth
Stevie H Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 poor SCSif only he hadn't had all those injuries to key players...........lol. morning cobsy lad.
