I am 2 episodes in of the second season and I think its great.

 

I am not usually a fan of detective based shows (Excluding The Wire which is a goodie/baddie type show) but The Shield is great.

 

The crack team make the show I feel, brings something different to the proceedings. I would definitely recommend it if you are feeling a void until The Wire Season 5.
