I've no problem with that. I'd rather they tested him out than we did, so as to get him to a level where he can last that long for us.

 

It isn't as if he's played lots of games and needs a break, he actually desperately needs time on the pitch. We've had some big games recently that it would have been too much of a risk to try him in and the reserves never play so the way I see it this was a no-lose way of seeing how his fitness is.

 

If he broke down again then he would have done so anyway soon enough, so I'd rather it happened for them than for us so as to minimise disruption/changes during a game.

 

To be honest, I really don't see his fitness lasting long anyway so I'd take any opportunity to get him sharp enough to use whle we still can.

He should have played 60 minutes and then come off, carrying on his recovery. He was in no fit state to play a full 90 and by all accounts looked absolutely b****xed at the end, which could have lead to a pointless injury.

 

Unfortunately, he's the Aussie golden boy and they use him without any thought for his club or career.

Yes, so I'd rather he looked b****xed playing for them than for us. He has to get 90 minutes under his belt sometime and that was as good an opportunity as any.

 

If he's going to get injured he's going to get injured and with Kewell I don't think that is any more likely later in a game than it is near the start in all honesty.
