johngibo YPC Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Flying at Marseillehttp://blogs.guardian.co.uk/sport/2007/11/...run_ceases.html
Raj Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 I watched some of this game on Setanta. Lyon should have battered Marseille. They missed 4 clear cut chances in the first half after taking the lead. Marseille then won a soft penalty and scored another to take the lead. There were some decent players on the pitch though. Sami Nasri, looked like a very creative player. He plays in the hole behind a main striker and his movement and passing were good. Lyon had Benzema and Ben Arfa, who both looked good too.
Sion Posted November 13, 2007 Posted November 13, 2007 Benzema and Nasri are both quality, would love either at Liverpool.
Magic8Ball Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Benzema and Nasri are both quality, would love either at Liverpool.we've been linked with Nasri but not with Benzema ( is that cough medicine or a skin rash ? )
Tones Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 Cisse is desperately average. I wouldnt rate him that highly.
Ostrich Man Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 You lot should buy the second leading goalscorer in that league. hes quality.
Stevie H Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 You lot should buy the second leading goalscorer in that league.hes quality.you mean david bellion don't you?
charlie clown Posted November 15, 2007 Posted November 15, 2007 according to the Fiver this week there is talk of him going to Citeh in January. Wouldn't surprise me - it'd get his missus back on something like home turf.

Lots of men behind the ball and fast counter attacks. It would mean that he can concentrate on sprinting in a straight line and shooting really hard. Edited November 15, 2007 by roegahnn

Agree, he would be ideal for Man City, to me it looks like Eriksson just wants someone with pace up front, no matter what. How else can you justify having a goalscorer like Bianchi on the bench and playing absolute dogs***es like Mpenza or Vassell up front?

Bianchi has failed to settle and wants to go back to Italy in January. Thus he's not in the "right frame of mind" to play and play well.

If you found yourself behind players like Vassell and Mpenza in the picking order, would you not got frustrated and wonder if this was the right place for you as well?
MFletcher Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 If you found yourself behind players like Vassell and Mpenza in the picking order, would you not got frustrated and wonder if this was the right place for you as well? I believe the reason he is behind those players is because he has failed to settle and is looking for a move back to Italy in January. Some players just can't settle in foreign countries and won't perform because of it. It's not a case of X is better than Y, therefore X should always play regardless of circumstance.
galés rojo Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 If you found yourself behind players like Vassell and Mpenza in the picking order, would you not got frustrated and wonder if this was the right place for you as well? Sven has always liked pace and Bianchi is on the slow side. I was never convinced by him and apart from last season his goal record is almost non existant.
Guest Linton Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 You lot should buy the second leading goalscorer in that league.hes quality. That is correct. Drogba was the second leading scorer in France when we bought Cissé. So it works.
