honourablegeorge Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Vincent Kompany could well be on the way in January, according to one of the men on RAWK.
MFletcher Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Vincent Kompany could well be on the way in January, according to one of the men on RAWK. Can you link to the post mate? Either way, we do need cover in the centre of defence. My understanding is that Kompany is made of glass though.
honourablegeorge Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 Link's here, it was posted by ShanksLegend who's privy to the odd snippet and fairly well thought of on there. http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index....8217#msg3518217

Kompany has real potential - Carra's long term replacement most likely. But I'm sure I've read that he's injury prone, which wouldn't be a positive start.
JAYJAYryan Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Vincent Kompany is a very silky footballer and a great defender, fast with an ability to play his way out from the back. He has had several setbacks with injuries but from my memory they were to his shoulder and an achillies injury rather than re occuring muscle problems. I think he would be a good signing.
honourablegeorge Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 He's had one bad major injury that kept him out most of last season, as opposed to being injury prone, I think. Supposedly done well this season.
johngibo YPC Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 The elephant man, or no one thanks.... thats ridiculous
Stevie H Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 get him in. best belgian footballer since frankie van der elst.
Red Lecter Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Vincent Kompany could well be on the way in January, according to one of the men on RAWK.Read the same thing by another poster on one of the less well known forums. This poster has got a number of things right previously; signing of Crouch months before anyone else, the fact that we have 1st option on Masch, etc.
Falconhoof Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Kompany has been class whenever i've seen him play.
Falconhoof Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I hope Rafa decides that he likes him so much he buys the Kompany.
The walters step over Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 I thought that we were being linked to Taylor of Newcastle, that's what I keep on being told anyway - something along the lines of part payment for Crouchy. As for Kompany - does he just play Cb or can he play along the back four?

As for Kompany - does he just play Cb or can he play along the back four? He seems comfortable on the ball, so he could probably do a job at full back. I can't say with any certainty unfortunately. I've only seen him a limited number of times.
12twelve Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 Kompany can play right back and center half.
windy city red Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) does he usually occupy the left side of defence? i remember one poster mentioning he's a pure athlete, who doesnt read the game too well. Edited November 12, 2007 by windy city red
