Torres hasn't played a minute of first team football since his injury, Kewell is still finding his way back.

If Torres is 100% then maybe play him but with international week coming up id rather he didnt play or for Spain and fully got over his knock.

Kewell could do with a start. surely we've got the beating of fulham, so should be able to 'take a chance', as it were, on Harry. he can always come off early, if need be.

Think Kuyt's played pretty well this season when hes had a proper target man up there with him, when he has to play up there on his own or with Veronin he hasnt played great but with Torres hes looked very good and i think with Crouch he'll be fine too.

Don't think he is ready for a start yet. He still needs a couple more cameo appearances. We still have to wrap him in cotton wool.

 

I would play the same team as Tuesday, although I think he might bring in Babel and drop Riise to left back. Not sure if Aurelio if fit enough to play another 60-90 mins in the same week.

cant see kewell starting, its too soon imo. i could see him coming on later in the game but i wouldnt have thought rafa risk him until the fulham lads energy levels are dropping.

 

personally i could see riise starting there but i can understand why some are opting with babel. horses for courses - same with arbeloa and finnan. cant fault the rest of the selection mind. be nice to see agger come on from the bench to give sami a rest later in the game but im not too sure where the lad is with his recovery ...

 

... ah sound, theres a pre-match conf with rafa on the offal so i'll report back in a bit :)

so a few notes from the pre-match conference:

  • - torres is fit (100% apparently)
    - lawrie sanchez has said he wants players that want to "frighten liverpool" so more physical game anticipated
    - rafa basically said that we'll be counter attacking (so pace/height and physical presence so voronin/torres/crouch please - not kuyt - ffs - lets keep the momentum going rafa!)
    - rafas "dream" to be here in 2011 for the new stadium ... he even said 2015 :) top man
    - rafa doesnt understand what blatters on about in relation to having a transfer window for managers
    - rafa supports what fergie was saying earlier in the week to have a subs bench of seven so he can field some younger players

I'd go with that but I think Torres or Kuyt will come in for Voronin, and Finnan for Aurelio.

I'd quite like to see the same team from Tuesday night, except with Kewell instead of Riise on the left wing. I think it could be a great attacking formation and we'd put Fulham to the sword.

 

I do expect Rafa to change it about, but I'm hopeful that both Benayoun and Crouch will start on Saturday.
