Sorry guys, I am a bit of a lurker rather than a poster but there are certain things that need to be said;

Personally, I do not think we will ever win the league with Rafa and his current mentality.

I dont know which way we are going at the moment!

In my opinion, players are being under used. They are playing as if they are being held back and on a leash. The squad as a whole is strong and creative (but does lack pace) but have not expressed themselves since the Derby game as we all know.

Why are we so scared of Birmingham? Blackburn? Even Arsenal at home???

Lets express ourselves!! We are so negative. We are much better than what we are showing!!

We are LFC!! Right??

Is Rafa the right man for the job? I dont know at the moment, some of Rafas decisions are certainly baffling but we are still unbeaten although I dont know how!

I sincerely hope the manager knows best.

What I do know is that if we keep on struggling as we are, Rafa may be in for a bumpy ride!!

Rafa has tried to turn around our away form which has consistently been poor under his leadership. Whether we like the way he does it or not, thus far 4 wins and 2 draws proves its being effective. I fully expect our home form to improve considerably soon, especially when we get our more technical players back (and it's pretty unlikely we'll adopt a 4 3 3 or 4 5 1 at home on a regular basis) I'd say stick with it for now although I agree today's tactics in particular was incredibly frustrating

Forwards and Rafa in the same sentence...................novelty thread ?

Not done too bad considering we've had 4 KEY players missing. Forwards.

But Rafa's assembled a squad that is capable to cope with such instances, he said so himself. And coping at the moment is the most positive thing I can think of.

Have we not spent enough to cover these positions? We are simply not good enough.

Lucas and Torres aside, looking at Arsenal and Man Ure it seems our purchasing of potential players is not good as theirs.

We need to step up a notch and get to these players first.

I hate to say it but Arsenal and Man Ure are are ahead of us now and will be for the future unless something changes.

Warnock's take on Rafa. The Times

This bit worrys me:

“Even if you’d played really well one week, you never thought you would play the next,” Warnock said. “People were being rested in September and October and I just think that’s crazy. You don’t want to be rested at that stage of the season. I thought I needed to play week in, week out to improve myself as a player.

“But it was not just the team, it was the same with the squad as well. The squad used to go up on a Friday afternoon and you wouldn’t even know who was going to be in it. It was comical sometimes. No one would have a clue why certain people were not included but the manager would keep his reasons to himself.”

And that's a bad thing?

Cast off player with bitter words about former manager shocker

Warnock's found his level, good for him. I seriously doubt he has the brains to manage a club like Liverpool.

I wonder why he didn't come out with this before Athens?

Rafas got his own style and I think ill reserve judjement for this season untill torres comes back as I think were about to go on a 10 match winning streak. What is clear though he seems to pick players based on their physical condition for the game, not their current form, which can be seenas a blinkered approach. This is typified with the kuyt / crouch situation. That said you could argue that crouch us fresher than kuyt given crouchs small amount of game time this season, so thats a bit of a strange one. For the first time since he took over rafa is showing a few signs that he ' is not on the pulse / mindset of the players'. Theres defoo somthing not quite right in the camp at the moment. It looks to me that cara and gerrard are showing unrest with regards to rafas tactics and rotation policy. I think that gerrard also beives that crouch should be ahead of kuyt at the moment.

Are people going to say any stupid thing to have a go at Rafa?

Torres was a "potential player" when we bought him? Lucas has already proven he is as good as the Arsenal and United players? We have bought no other players under Rafa that are any good? United have not wasted a ****load of money on "potential players" in recent years?

I'd suggest that what needs to "change" is your level of insight.

Warnock was only ever a squad player. He can say he wanted games week in week out to improve as a player but that was never going to happen. He was 3rd choice leftback and we're in the game of winning trophies, not trying to stabilise the careers of average players. If it hadn't have been for rotation he would never have played at all.

Struggling to remember any performances where he played really well, did OK a few times but can't recall any memorable performances??

He wasn't being rested, a better player was playing.

In the league we are still struggling at a level similar to GH.

HOWEVER, 2 Champions League finals is not to be sniffed at, we have certainly come forward and if thats not correct I would love to know how it represents going backwards or sideways from GH's days.

But, Rafa will always be judged on the league from this point forth given we have satisfied ourselves in Europe leaving the Prem as the last frontier to be conquered.

Intoduction in the Independent match report sums it up well ;

"It is difficult to know where Liverpool are this season. If they are going through the blip every team suffers they are picking up points in difficult circumstances, are unbeaten in the Premier League and are just six points behind the leaders. The worry is, this could be as good as it gets"

By no means are we out of the title race but we're not marching towards to no.19 either. It's a "lets wait and see" situation at the moment for me.

That's a fair comment.

I KNOW we will play better when we have Agger, Arbeloa, and Torres back.

Warnock must have had a fairly good idea why he wasn't always in it?!
