Guest Sabre Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Arsenal had won 12 games in a row in all competitions. We just stopped that and with a little more luck would have made them losers today. The same old arguments will be trotted out but I'm incredibly pleased with some key performers out there today. Carra was strong, Finnan consistent (with some superb work in the final third at times), Gerrard back to his old self, Mascherano absolutely imperious. We'll miss Xabi massively.

What we saw today from out lads should be the MINIMUM every game and we shouldnt be slapping them on the back over it either.
Guest Si Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I wont miss Xabi. He was dire before his injury and he was dire today. Hes the great enigma for me. Brilliant when he arrived but the last 12-18 months have been a real mare for him. If Sissoko wasnt so bad the knives would be out for Alonso Im sure. Long before his injury his passing deserted him and without that Im not sure what he actually offers.
Sion Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 If we analyse a game afterwards, and the best thing to come out of it was ''we tried hard'' we know we're in s***.
Guest Sabre Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 We were second best. Result says different. What we saw today from out lads should be the MINIMUM every game and we shouldnt be slapping them on the back over it either. Taking this game in isolation following recent results, we did pretty well. Had the chances to win it. Gallas' block on Gerrard at the end was massive.
windy city red Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I agree with the first two posts but am still very encouraged by the performance. I am looking forward to the next few games.
Guest Ant Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Am I the only person who thought Alonso did f*** all when he was on?

If we analyse a game afterwards, and the best thing to come out of it was ''we tried hard'' we know we're in s***. If you honestly think that is what the team and the players will take from today then you're being a little obtuse.
Earl Hafler Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Credit to them for not being able to pass the ball. If Carra hadn't had his best game in yonks we'd have lost and deserved it. The ball dropped in our area and Riise just stood there and watched.
Guest Sabre Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Am I the only person who thought Alonso did f*** all when he was on? And this proves that you don't have a f***ing clue.
psl Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 As Carra said in his Sky interview, we're Liverpool and we should be expecting to beat Arsenal at home. I know what you're saying and applaud the sentiment but the way they passed the ball around us today was scary. We could have won the match obviously, so could they. The gap in class between the two sides was obvious though. I don't even think they're players are better than ours. Its all in the mindset of the club and the way the team plays and that has to go back to the manager.
Coyler Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I agree with the first two posts but am still very encouraged by the performance. I am looking forward to the next few games.I thought we did play well and I would have been encouraged if we hadn't lost Alonso. Leeeetle bit worried now.
Falconhoof Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Result says different. Why even watch the game if thats all thats needed to form an opinion.

Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Am I the only person who thought Alonso did f*** all when he was on? Alonso grew into the game as it went on, first half he looked like a man just back from injury, but the second half I thought he was immense.
Sion Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 You don't know anything. If you honestly think that is what the team and the players will take from today then you're being a little obtuse. What will they take then? We tried our hardest and still got outplayed? Our manager is about as tactically aware as Souness when it comes to PL matches? We can't string a run of more than 3 passes together? Riise is s***?
Guest Si Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 And this proves that you don't have a f***ing clue. Again, great argument.
psl Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Am I the only person who thought Alonso did f*** all when he was on? Well he won the free kick that we scored from, for a start.
Guest GrandpaSimpson Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 You don't know anything. If you honestly think that is what the team and the players will take from today then you're being a little obtuse. So what do we take from today? besides Alonso, Torres and Masch injuries
Guest Ant Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 And this proves that you don't have a f***ing clue. Not really you just crack one off at night about him and have done ever since he came. He is a cracking player no doubts about it but he didn't really make a massive difference, if anyone did it was Crouch....
Guest Si Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Why even watch the game if thats all thats needed to form an opinion. Then he can come on here and tell people off that dont agree with him

Guest Si Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Well he won the free kick that we scored from, for a start. I dont really class being fouled as doing something? i could go out there and get clattered by someone and then we score - doesnt make me any good!
