This isn't a knee jerk reaction to tonight but Voronin isn't good enough. He has got no pace, isn't a good finisher and isn't good in the air. I'm just not sure what he offers us - OK - he works hard and is a good link man but surely we need better than that? The only plus point is that we didn't pay £30 million for our dud Ukranian.

 

BTW - Yes, I know people will say give him time, he's only been here a few months etc but I don't think he'll be able to cut it - his career goals record doesn't exactly inspire either.

Neither are most of our team based on recent performances. I can't understand what the likes of Babel, Kuyt, Pennant, Bennayoun, Voronin have that the likes of Bellamy, Garcia or Cisse didn't have. These players have done nothing to improve us, especially in creating chances and scoring goals.

Voronin is good up front playing alongside Torres, but not so hot with Kuyt or possibly Crouch.

 

He is prepared to do the hard work that Torres will not do when they play together.

 

When we play Kuyt and Voronin it's like having a 2nd tier of midfield playing jsut ahead of the regular midfield, neither are what you would call predators in the box.

Garcia wanted to leave, Voronin replaced Fowler not Bellamy, Kuyt and Cisse are completely different players
