If you look at LFC form 4 of our 5 wins have being on the road, don't know about you but I would prefer our away win points in the bag than aresenal's away win possibilities. Look at their away league fixtures for November / early December, if they are still top by then fair dues to them, but I doubt it. This title race is all about finishing above MUFC , finish above them and we are champions. It will be tough and I just hope those 6 points dropped at home to spurs, chelsea and Birmingham don't cost us dearly. Collectively - Got 3, could have got 9. 6 points. Although in the case of Chelsea it's 3 points in theory because we should be 3 points further ahead of them. Edited October 21, 2007 by Big Stuff

JRC Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Arsenal are clearly playing great football and converting that style into results (which has not always been the case), but the way some of their matches are going is not always impressive - when you see some of the stick Rafa has got after an away Deby win, I'm not sure he would have remained unscathed if we had last ten minute goals to thank for wins over Fulham, Sunderland and Bolton (and coming from behind vs City and Spurs). 'Character' is great - and we have shown plenty of that as well - but conceding 2 to Sunderland can never be a good thing. Arsenal are yet to win a League game outside of London, I believe - let's keep that record going with a win on Sunday.
Guest Prongsy Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) One game outside of London in their whole league season so far. The majority of our fixtures have been away, the league table is skewed because of that. There is no doubt they are flying high at the moment and I respect the way they have picked up points so far this year, but it's not as clear as the table makes it look. I believe Pennant and Babel need to play, because they leave massive space down the channels when attacking. Torres will also attack these if he plays. Edited October 23, 2007 by Prongsy

That one league game outside London was Blackburn away, which they drew. I'm very confident we can beat them.
Guest prophet Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 On BOY! Cant wait for Sunday! 7-zilch Slavia....BRING THEM ON!
Guest Disintegration Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) If we can summon the form we found against, say, Chelsea (who remain a superior side to them) we'll beat Arsenal very, very comfortably. 3-0 or thereabouts. If, on the other hand, we fall pray to the sort of errors which have dogged us in recent weeks they (and indeed any half-decent side) have a chance at taking something away from Anfield. DON KOPRANO Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 It does not matter how good they have done so far. They have not played any of the other big 4 yet. Yes they are confident but so is our lads. We'll turn them over at Anfield.
Guest Gillespie Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 As a Gooner I am very optimistic of at least getting a point at Anfield on Sunday.....and I am lucky enough to be one of those Gooners who will be in the Anfield Road end on Sunday to watch the game!! Come on you Gunners!!!! (We had better get something.....a bloody long drive back to Kent if we don't!)
Knox_Harrington Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 (edited) You've every right to be optimistic, Gillespie. I think we can dog one, personally, but we'll need to keep the ball very well indeed for long periods. Edited October 24, 2007 by Knox_Harrington
Cam Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 It's worrying. Either we'll be really up and scrap for a hard-fought victory which'll just paper over the cracks and lead to a heavier drop into doom & gloom at a later stage. Or they'll not just beat us but do so in the style we'd love our own team to be playing. That, rather than the actual loss, could result in some pretty vicious crap from the crowd towards Rafa.

Or option c) a team with more of our key players plays us to a deserved victory. Tonight was disappointing but it's fine tuning not total rehaul.
Bootle Buck Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Quite frankly I think it will be ugly. The @rse youngsters are so quick and will give our slow back line all kinds of problems. They will come to Anfield with bags of confidence.
