adiman Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 "I think that final was the best match this [AC] Milan side have ever played. Compared with the one against Juventus and against Liverpool [FC] in Athens, this one was way more spectacular, more beautiful, more exciting." Carlo Ancelotti recalls the pain of defeat on penalties to Liverpool in Istanbul in 2005. Video from uefa.com
_00_deathscar Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Its true though. I've never seen two teams so mismatched ability wise in a final (first half especially). It was sublime football.
Frosty Jack Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Its true though. I've never seen two teams so mismatched ability wise in a final (first half especially). It was sublime football. it's strange but I remembered it that way too til I watched it again, they scored, passed well and scored another two on the break while we pushed for a goal. kaka aside it wasn't quite the mismatch i remembered, I'd say they played better in the second half in terms of possession.
_00_deathscar Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 They also had a goal disallowed wrongly don't forget.
Barnesy_10 Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 They also had a goal disallowed wrongly don't forget. aye, we should have had a penalty too
Hassony Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 4-1 in the first half then. their second goal came straight after our penalty claim, so it wouldn't have been scored 3-1
Woodsyla Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 their second goal came straight after our penalty claim, so it wouldn't have been scored 3-1 We were robbed, we should have won the ............ hang on
Gunga Din Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 aye, and they should have had a man sent off after Stevie dived was fouled in the box
The_Adder Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Its true that we should of had a clear pen that prob would have brought it back to 2-1, but looking back I don't think any Liverpool or Neutral fan in the world would have changed a single thing about that night... Maybe Milan, Manure and the Blues***e might of though... Oh well!
