Anyone know how hes doing at Swansea? see he scored tonight and also last week, hopefully this experience in the first team will bring him on and i wouldnt be surprised if he went on to become a better option than Pennant for wide right, he certainly has more pace and is more direct.

Also see Guthrie's finally getting some games for Bolton and seems to be doing pretty good.

Heard from a Swansea fan that Anderson is doing well there. Started off as a bit player, but has started more games recently because of injuries and scored 6 so far this season.

Bolton fans want Guthrie to stay in the team ahead of Nolan and Speed.

Anderson has been nothing short of excellent at Swansea. Banging the goals in too.

6 in 10 games for him so far I think, some of them were as a sub as well. He had a bad time of it last year, hopefully this will do him good, it seems to be anyway.

Antwi is playing brilliantly for Hartlepool by all accounts too

Anderson has been brilliant apparently. Swansea routed the leaders Leyton Orient 5-0 at their own ground the other week, and he scored, set a couple up and basically took the p*ss by all accounts.

Antwi seems to be hugely popular with the lower league clubs he plays for as well.

seen two of bolton's last games and guthrie's looked decent. played centrally in europe and was distributing it really well, simple one touch stuff but always finding a white shirt in space. took most of the free kicks as well. and a couple of shots on goal.

saw second half of the chelsea game and he played wider, alternating left and right, was getting stuck in and going forward pretty well.

And they face each other at the Liberty Stadium on the 20th.

The first thing that struck me about most of these young lads when I saw 'em play was how slight they seem (Antwi excepted, he's a bit of a grock for his age). Unless they've bulked up somewhat, can't see 'em lasting two minutes at the top level.

Size aside though, Hammill and Anderson look fairly talented.

Anderson is slight but hes very quick, think Aaron Lennon or Ashley Young, hes that type of wide player, if he progresses as he should i think he'll be a better long term bet than Pennant.

the question is how close is he to being in the first team squad and getting regular games ?

Guthrie looked to have bulked up the other night for Bolton, I didn't recognise him.

Bolton fan i know said he was their best player pre season

couldn't believe he hadn't been in the team last time i spoke to him (about 4 weeks ago)

I saw Andersons goal from the weekend. Showed a great turn of pace to go past the defender but a decent keeper would have saved the shot.

Apparantly played very well all 90 that day though

Was talking to a couple of Hartlepool players over the weekend and they suggested that Antwi makes a lot of mistakes and can’t see him ever making it in the premier league, probably the championship if anything. They said he is a good lad though.

Another goal for Paul Anderson tonight in their 1:1 result against Gillingham. Starting to get himself a reputation as a goal-scoring right midfielder. Can never have too many of those :) 7 goals now for the youngster.

******

Paul Anderson fired Swansea City back to the top of League One with a late equaliser at the Liberty Stadium after Warren Feeney had been sent off for the Swans after just 23 minutes.

Delroy Facey put the Gills ahead after 23 minutes only for Anderson to level the scores 11 minutes from time.

But it was the least 10-man Swansea deserved after dominating a pulsating game which referee Stuart Attwell did the best to ruin with a display which infuriated everyone at a passionate Liberty.

Swansea even missed an injury time penalty when Andy Robinson's spot kick was saved by Simon Royce.

Swansea: De Vries, Rangel, Lawrence, Monk, Painter, Butler, Britton, Pratley, Anderson, Scotland, Feeney. Subs: Austin, O'Leary, Robinson, Duffy, Allen.

Gillingham: Royce, Southall, Cox, King, Graham, Bentley, Brown, Facey, Sodje, Mulligan, Crofts. Subs: Stillie, Lomas, Cogan, Clohessey, Dickson.

Att: 13,452

Ref: S B Attwell

Asst-refs: P J Grove, A Matthews

4th official: S C Knapp

Second-placed Swansea were forced into one change from the side that picked up their fifth straight win at Yeovil last Saturday with Ferrie Bodde ruled out with a hip injury.

His place in the middle of midfield was taken by Leon Britton who was making his first start since recovering from a hamstring injury.

Gillingham, without a win from their opening six league games on the road, saw new manager Mark Stimpson take charge of his first game since signing a three-and-a-half year contract on Thursday.

Before the game started there was a heart-warming minute's applause in respect of Welsh rugby and broadcasting legend Ray Gravell who passed away yesterday.

When the game got underway, Swansea made a positive start as they looked for the win that would take them top of League One.

Tom Butler created the first opening after eight minutes when his long-range shot was spilled by Simon Royce, but Gills managed to clear their lines as Warren Feeney pounced on the loose ball.

But two minutes later, Swansea were rocked back on their heels when Gillingham took the lead.

Dennis Lawrence's clearance fell straight to Delroy Facey 25 yards out and the striker fired an unbelievable strike beyond Dorus de Vries and into the top corner.

Manager Roberto Martinez was then forced into an early change as Marcos Painter limped off to be replaced by Kevin Austin at left-back.

Swansea kept their heads up and Darren Pratley and Paul Anderson fired just over the bar.

But things took another turn for the worst in the 23rd minute when Swansea were reduced to 10 men when Warren Feeney was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Simon King which the referee deemed two-footed and dangerous.

Feeney, the Swansea players, management and the crowd were furious as Feeney made his way down the tunnel.

Referee Stuart Attwell continued to receive a lot of stick from the crowd with some strange decisions as Swansea finished the half with Jason Scotland playing a lone role up front.

Half-time: Swans 0 Gills 1

Swansea made a bright start to the second half as Scotland drilled a low cross across the face of goal that the Gillingham defence just managed to clear.

And they thought they had equalised in the 53rd minute when Paul Anderson's in-swinging corner was deflected in off Efe Sodje. But the young referee, in his first season in the Football League, disallowed the goal for a foul on the 'keeper.

Then Scotland had a penalty appeal turned down before Leon Britton's effort from the edge of the area was tipped over by Royce as Swansea stepped it up a gear.

Swansea were piling on the pressure now as Anderson's shot hit the unsuspecting Scotland in front of goal before Roberto sent on Andy Robinson for defender Lawrence with an hour gone.

Great work from Robinson saw his deflected shot hit the roof of the net. The referee, true to form, gave a goal kick.

Garry Monk was eventually booked for his protests before Robinson unleashed another fierce effort which Royce did well to beat out.

Roberto played his last card with 16 minutes left as he sent on Darryl Duffy for Butler who had had a good game.

And just as the game looked to be slipping away from the Swans, the equaliser duly arrived in the 79th minute.

Great work from Pratley down the right saw the midfielder drive a low cross across the face of goal for Paul Anderson to arrive late and fire home his seventh of the season.

Then deep in injury time, Swansea had the chance to grab the winner when Britton was brought down in the box. The referee pointed to the spot, but Andy Robinson saw his penalty and follow up saved by Royce.
