Laptop Memory upgrade

Can anyone advise me whether upgrading from 1 to 2 gb of RAM on a laptop would mage enough of a difference to make it worthwhile.

 

I'm sure it wouldnt make everything go exactly twice as fast, but surely, for £50, it would be worth doing?

 

Any experts care to share their thoughts?
