Headphones

I'm after a new set of headphones for my ipod. The Shure E2cs are £30 on play.com which is about as much as I'm willing to spend, but they block out most of the outside noise which probably makes them dangerous for jogging.

Are there any good headphones that aren't going to get me run over, or are ear-canal headphones okay?
