Guest Snorky Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N...070924-1641.htm Liverpool fans travelling to Reading for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie are warned they face ejection from the stadium if they stand in seated areas. A statement by Reading FC safety officer Clive Doyle reads: "We welcome Liverpool supporters to Madejski Stadium and hope you have an enjoyable visit. "Please note that standing in seated areas is not permissible, as it is against the ground regulations. "We are required to have supporters seated during the match and if people refuse we will be forced to eject those who fail to comply." The statement goes on: "Public order offenders may be arrested by police and get a criminal record. "As a result of persistent standing by Liverpool fans last season, Madejski Stadium management has been required to prohibit the sale of alcohol at this match." So not only because of standing in the past, you may get ejected but also there is no ale on sale in the ground. This kind of thing will become the norm in the future.
Hightown Phil Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Reading sum up everything that is bad about football.
CarraLegend Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Wonder how long till you're not allowed to talk when the ball is in play and you can't cheer a goal as theres the possibility of offending someone with sensitive ears.
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 To be fair, standing is a bit of a c**** trick if theres kids behind you.
Gunga Din Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Wonder how long till you're not allowed to talk when the ball is in play and you can't cheer a goal as theres the possibility of offending someone with sensitive ears. getting ludicrous now. i await the day when someone gets booted out for swearing. it wont be that far away i reckon
Elisha_Scott Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 getting ludicrous now. i await the day when someone gets booted out for swearing. it wont be that far away i reckon St James Park Newcastle, season before last. Crouch Gerrard and Cisse scored. Lad was singing songs and one of them involved a naughty word. Geordie busy dragged him out. Bang out of order.

I was there three years ago I think and it happened. Someone was dragged out by us and I asked a lad stood by me why he'd gone. Lad said: He took Shearer's name in vain. Newcastle police and stewards are f***ing c****.
Redwire Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 getting ludicrous now. i await the day when someone gets booted out for swearing. it wont be that far away i reckon It's getting close to that at Anfield with that c*nt of a policeman who patrols in front of the Paddock.
anny road Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 so according to that you are not allowed to stand at all never what happens if we score then? what a load of bulls***
Nebraska Red Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 getting ludicrous now. i await the day when someone gets booted out for swearing. it wont be that far away i reckon so according to that you are not allowed to stand at all never what happens if we score then? what a load of bulls*** I got kicked out at Southend years agao for swearing, it was at a police officer mind you. I'm sure they will not mind if you stand up and politely applaud after we score. Throw in a couple of "I say old boy, terrific shot. Tophole goal old bean" comments and they might even upgrade you to a seat in the posh part of the ground.
Gunga Din Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 so according to that you are not allowed to stand at all never what happens if we score then? what a load of bulls*** sit down, you! and shut up as well.
anny road Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 sit down, you! and shut up as well. f*** you
allez les rouges Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 i got thrown out of anfield in the early 90's for doing a gesture that implied everton fans had oral intercourse with men. we got beat. it was the most dignified way to leave.
Stevie H Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Wonder how long till you're not allowed to talk when the ball is in play and you can't cheer a goal as theres the possibility of offending someone with sensitive ears.danny kelly goes on a lot about white hart lane now being a no swearing ground. he's been thrown out of there for swearing.
CarraLegend Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 danny kelly goes on a lot about white hart lane now being a no swearing ground. he's been thrown out of there for swearing. There was a lad round me thrown out for swearing there last season though it was at a steward rather than just general shouting about the match, 2 others for standing, it's ridiculous there.
Chewie Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 you know what'ld really scare em...if the fans made a concerted effort to stay absolutely fixed to their seats and didn't make a noise....let the powers that be see where their nonsense is taking the game and watch how they reply....sponsors, tv and radio need an atmosphere - take that away deliberately would be the loudest protest you could make YNWA Chewie
Des Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 danny kelly goes on a lot about white hart lane now being a no swearing ground. he's been thrown out of there for swearing. That's just....insane. Might as well chuck out managers and players if that's the case, Nothing has changed. Football fans still = scum. As far as they're concerned.

Herbie von Smalls Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 i'd turf out danny kelly of any stadium, given the opportunity.

Guest Snorky Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I've had mates thrown out at Villa for either standing or swearing. There's a lot worse clubs out there than Liverpool and a load worse stewards. Against Wycombe I was told that if I swore one more time I would be thrown out, I even had Ant with me at the time, he was 10 then. Next thing there was even a policeman called and the pair of them watched me for a good ten minutes. The only thing I could shout was "Referee I really doubt that you knew you father, you appear to be overweight and your eyesight is not the best". The steward and copper could do nothing, the crowd around laughed, they knew I was taking the piss but could do nothing about it, they knew it and I knew it, and then Robbie scored - happy days.
San Diego Red Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 So a pint makes you want to stand up does it?
fyds Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I can't understand anyone NOT swearing at a Spuds match! Been given the waggy finger and told to curb it by an Anfield steward for suggesting that a certain Juventus player prone to aerobatics was of dubious parentage and resembled the female reproductory organs. Mind you - this was nothing compared to what Katja yelled at Viduka during last seasons home game with Boro... The standing thing is understandable within reason. Not to expect fans to stand during moments of higher tension or after a goal etc though is a bit ludicrous.
jsu7777 Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Personally I am getting pissed off with all the mummy knows best announcements at Anfield -against Brum first we had the "no smoking in the bogs" one then the "no standing you naughty boys" one then the neverending "no racism" one -then they ran the whole f***ing lot again!!I decided to go for a smoke behind the bike sheds at that point!!!!
