If you're in any doubt we need a new stadium....

You should see the hordes of Gooners rolling onto the trains at Victoria, going back to Bromley or Gillingham, every single one with an Arsenal club shop bag.The amount of money we're missing out on is summed up there, they're making an absolute mint out of that stadium.

Can you imagine how much Liverworld wear we'd sell.

Interestingly, the Chelsea fans I see around Victoria of a weekend NEVER have a club shop bag,yet the Gooners all do.

I wonder if the genius Kenyon is missing out on another trick.

Arsenal are a good club - easily my favourite (or least dis-liked) of the other top teams

I have to say Wenger really has got style when it comes to the transfer market - he is exceptionally shrewd and his overall spend is dramatically less than any of the other top managers.

The fact that not only does he not complain about money but has actively discouraged a takeover from the latest Russian billionaire saying he has all the money he needs has to be applauded.

I find him irritating at times with his post-match comments, but credit where it's due.

Agree totally with this.

We will undoubtedly sell out the new stadium (I'm still hoping it will be 78,000 rather than the 60,000) and this will help us generate millions more in revenue which will in turn help us fund the 'biG NaMES' everyone craves. I wont be at all surprise to find Mr Wenger signing such players in the very near future and that's a scary thought.

The thing I like most about Wenger is he buys great young talent then actaually gives them a go. Many other clubs buy young players yet never seem confident to give the the chance.

Not only that, but he sells players - Henry, Overmars, Anelka, Viera, Petit... at just the right time. I think it's an incredible feat to actually have made a net profit in the transfer market while also winning titles.

i think he can do that because he won the league in his first season and he done so well afterwards, the board backs him completly and he has the luxury of introducing the young players

Rafa is not in a position to do that because we are desperate for every season to be our season in the league

How do their prices (e.g. tickets, merchandise) compare to ours? Do they have a "London tax" added on, or are they pretty reasonable?

They're incredibly expensive. Their most expensive seat costs more than even Chelsea's. I think it was £72 last season. The average cost is way, way higher than Anfield prices.

Like it or not, our American friends will hike prices like there's no tomorrow when the new stadium opens. It's inevitable

That is coorect. There will be a lot more people from around the country, and the world, coming in and creating more demand for seats. The prices will go up a lot but the top end seats will be very expensive.

I'm pretty sure that the lowest price is about £45, ranging up to £70

They make a huge amount of money from their corporate tickets too.

1 big ommission from this thread.

a*** have a 60k sitter. Manc a 78k sitter and sell out every week. our ticket prices will be close to the mancs one. Never will we see ticket prices like spurs west ham a*** and chelsea have.

Their ticket rev was 90 of the 200mill. the other 110 mill should be the real question

So is that £110m from merchandise alone (I read their on-TV money was down from the year before due to not getting as far in the CL, but I assume TV money should be up across the entire PL?) or was that with Henry's money included (minus Eduardo's)? They really didn't spend much this summer.

If our cheapest tickets are gonna go up to about 45 quid i'll not be happy.

Well when the opposition is the Mancs and Chelsea that wouldn't be hard.

Don't mind them either to be honest even if they are media darlings.

Of course Arsenal are making a bomb though. Filling a 60,000 seater ground at London prices. The cash registers must be ringing down there.

Apparently a big chunk of this was the money they got for selling the site of the old staduim, money that will not be on next years books, so the figures are 'misleading' to say the least

No way will they be able to do that and still sell 75,000 tickets week in week out.

£23m I think, not looked through it all, but Bose's piece said £177m was from the Football business, and they expect £30m next year from property, and £60m in 2009

Arsenal get 50% of their match revenue from all the executive boxes they've got, i'm hoping we'll have just as many if not more. A 78k stadium with a huge KOP will be ace and would make leaving Anfield so much easier, however leaving Anfield for just 60k but much more expensive ticket prices will be a bit disappointing IMO.

Arguably, given the season ticket waiting list, the club are, from a business perspective, being quite stupid in not substantially raising prices.
