premania Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 underestimated birmigham and paid the price for it. Why dropped Torres? No...we not goin to win the title...end
alias75 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 no one was dropped, we shouldnt have to rely on 1 player to beat Birmingham at home. the team that was picked was very strong apart from Torres not starting it was about as strong as we could have picked.
Guest Ant Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 He really, really really needs to stop swapping players around. It is doing absolutely nothing to help us Torres the only attacking minded player who will both create and get goals and is in form dropped to the bench twice in a row now. I thought this season was different, seems I was wrong.. League Champions are meant to be beating times like Birmingham at home f***s Sake

Exactly, the media and d*cks on the phones in's will blame 'dropping Torres' but it's more to do with playing sh*te than playing Voronin.
Andy-oh-six Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 We'll see the benefit come springtime. We might be 25pts behind the leadrrs by then but by god we'll be fit and playing well.

I am fu(king livid. I am sick of the roatation policy

But we've been lacklustre against Portsmouth and Birmingham. A team like that is going to come and defend. Torres is possibly the only one of our centre forwards who can change the game in an instant - it's not just about using his pace in behind defences but the acceleration to gain a yard, the guile and brilliance to create a chance instead of laying a pass off. I like Kuyt and Voronin but for that type of game i think they are too similar. And Gerrard has been poor since he got injured. Wheels not coming off but the mechanics are ready in the pitlane. CaptainXabi Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 This original post was over the top, but I think Rafa deserves any stick he gets today.

Play your best team from the start and once you are winning games then take players off to rest them
RafaShanks Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I thought Rafa would have learnt his lesson after Pompey. It seems he's feckin obsessed with it. How many times has Wenger changed his side (unforced) this season just out of interest? Back to earth with a massive bang after our optimistic start.
psl Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Torres should have started today. Can't understand why he didn't.
The Hitman Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Rafa, just play Torres.Seriously, you don't buy a £26m striker and leave him on the bench for two games in a row.I love Rafa, but this is b******s.
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Rafa needs to seriously shape up with this rotation b******s or else things will build up and people will lose major faith in him.

Guest RedLegend Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Well it was a lousy team performance first of all but yeah I have to admit I'm baffled as to why he doesn't play Torres from the start. After he came on he nearly scored from a bicycle kick and made the clever backheel that Crouch could have scored from. We should be able to beat Brum without him but why make it harder for ourselves.

Spot on, he brought two titles to Valencia by doing exactly the same thing that he's trying to do with us.It hasn't worked so far, but we all knew that with the squad he built over the summer he was going to rotate the team as much as he is doing. He's always been a manager who rotates heavily, the only way it will change is when he leaves us (which I'm not advocating btw, that would be insane), so you either accept that we won't play the same team for two consecutive games or you prepare to be very, very frustrated this season.
alias75 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I get the feeling Rafa still thinks Torres isnt fully fit, in midweek he did loo very tired after about 70min and i other games hes faded badly after about an hour, he didnt have a full pre-season and still probably isnt 100% plus the PL is a different pace to La Liga. Rafa feels he has 2 good options for each position and todays team was still very strong, Finnan was rested but thats not really a problem in this type of game and Torres didnt start but apart from those 2 it was as strong as Rafa could have gone. Question the players before Rafa in this case. On the plus side were 2nd in the league still undefeated and still havent conceded a goal from open play, plus 1 or 2 might be showing Rafa they arent good enough when called upon.

Haven't the kneejerkers always been correct? because we have yet to sustain a title challenge in all the time Rafa's been here. Its a good job he's knows his stuff in Europe.
Maldini Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Torres should have played today, but the team we had out should have battered Birmingham, the players' attitudes are more of a problem than the rotation.
