avenue de libertades is the correct spelling.

its like the ramblas , the hard rock cafe is on it and is nice but just around the corner there is 1 big square, i was there during the year and taught to myself if we get a draw to play in lisbon that this would be exactly where everyone will be hanging about, much the same as Barcelona. The main bars are further down though towards the sea.

Gets hotels on the avenue de libertades if possible.

rossio is probably the main sq or commerciao (but there's nothing but v v touristy places around there)

praca da figueria is just by Rossio and has some cafes/bars etc.

there's some great bars in Barrio Alto ;)

There was a nice restaurant in Barrio Alto. We were taken there by a local (well he was localish) and took ages to find it.

Food made up for it though.

I still don't believe he was a local, I reckon he'd been to Lisbon as often as you or me. He had no clue where we were going.

I'd worked with him in London, he's more cockney than Murph.

Think he was from somewhere close but not Lisbon. Terri will probably know.

Lives near Lisbon now, but born in England of Portuguese parents.
