now, i'm not one to kneejerk about players ability, but having watched the players warm up pre match at our home games this season, i'm really concerned about what would happen if Reina got injured or sent off during the game. when the playesr are warming up, they all take turns at taking shots on goal, and Riise has a go at decapitating someone in 202 0r 208. the keepers take turns at saving these shots, and Reina usually takes it pretty seriously, saving as many as he can. however, this new number two keeper looks like the kid in school who is stood in goal because no one else wants to do it, half heartedly sticking a leg out to block a shot, or in some cases, rather worryingly, moving out of the way altogether. i'd far rather see young David Martin on the bench than this clown, because he loosk like he is afraid of the ball

f*** me. suspect that his primary instruction in the pre-match warm-up is 'do not get f***ing injured'.

why would he have that instruction and Reina is diving about all over the place saving them? and i wonder if any of the people replying to this thread so far have actualy watched him in warm up. he really looks bad

because Reina is about to play so needs to be sharp, while Itandge is about to sit on the bench.

no haven't seen him warm up but I have seen him play, looked reasonable enough then and he has a decent reputation in France.

'cos reina's going to have to do that during the match. itandje's a safety net.

and i haven't seen him warm up. but would imagine we scouted him pretty extensively before buying him.

I have seen him warm up and thought the same as Wayne.

Jerzy used to take it seriously but this guy can't be arsed.

We'll soon find out how good he is at Reading in The Carling Cup.

so why did Jerzy Dudek make an effort then?

because it was about the only shop window he had?

d'you think rafa would've signed itandje if he was really crap?

i dont know, but it really has to be seen to be believed. he actually does look like he cant be arsed and makes minimal effort to save any shots, although quite clearly you, by never actually going to the game or seeing the warmup, know better

I saw it and noticed it.

He even shat it when Riise lined up to t*** one, when surely he was stood in the safest place within Anfield (in front of the target).

Riise actually hit the same person twice with the ball in a warm up last season in 106 block
