I've all but given up on us being able to rely on him for that amount of games in a season but he would be useful to have around now whilst Babel is still getting used to English football.

and moving him on will change what exectly, he will still be entitled to that £3m or whatever, he has a contract. To terminate it there will have to be severence agreed, and he has every right to hold out for the lot, especially if he did'nt ask to go. There is a common misconception that if you sell a player you just stop his contract and be done with your obligations to him, not true and not that simple.
