Amit83 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 From .tv Liverpool Football Club have confirmed the sale of Gabriel Paletta to Argentine side Boca Juniors. The young centre-back had been at Anfield since the summer of 2006. Liverpool snapped him up from Banfield following impressive displays in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championships. Argentina won the tournament, with Paletta playing in all seven games alongside the likes of Lionel Messi. The 21-year-old made his Reds debut on October 25, 2006 in a 4-3 League Cup victory over Reading at Anfield. He capped an impressive display with a second-half goal. Paletta went on to play eight times for the club. Liverpoolfc.tv wishes him all the best for the future. Didn't have the best of times with us but i wish him well.YNWA
alias75 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The report i read this morning said Insua's move has been made permanent with Paletta going the other way.
Guest Linton Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Rafa sure is more ruthless than GH ever was and that is a good thing. No more deadwood hanging around. Good luck to him though!
Guest RedIsMyColour Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 He was s**** to be fair but maybe he's better suited to another league once he picks up some more experience in Argentina. He could be a star in La Liga in a few years.

Zoob Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 wow. Funny how the reports a couple weeks back made it out to be a loan move, but it's now been confirmed as a sale. Think he could do well in Italy or Spain, but things were just a bit too quick for him over here. As others have said, Rafa's ruthless streak is great for the club. And it's not like we've got a shortage of young centre backs...
McBain Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Buy back option in there maybe. Rafa must really not believe he's ready if he's still allowed him to go after yesterday
Liverbobs Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Never good enough for us, but good luck to the lad.
Guest Portly Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 It would be interesting to know how much we got for Paletta from Boca. I don't expect Argentinian clubs pay big transfer fees!
Maldini Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I'd say it was probably a direct swap for Insua
