ynwa.tv Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Double Agents Down Memory Lane Meet the Referee
urban Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I would love to see Lucas Leiva, Yossi Benayoun Mascherano and Ryan Babel start for this game. We can rest Alonso, Gerrard, Pennant for this game.
Alonso Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I'll go: Reina Finnan Carragher Agger Arbeloa Pennant Alonso Mascherano Babel Kuyt Torres 2-0 Torres Babel
Guest Snorky Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I think this one will be a tough one. Most of our players have been away in Europe whilst theirs have been licking their wounds and ears after last weeks display. Keane has all week to get them in the right frame of mind. This is going to be a lot closer than it should be. Also we always get beat in the North East with this ref
stressederic Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 More importantly. European away kit or last season's yellow shirts?
takanohana Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I would love to see Lucas Leiva, Yossi Benayoun Mascherano and Ryan Babel start for this game. We can rest Alonso, Gerrard, Pennant for this game. You're on crack
G Richards Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Strongest team possible please. If Stevie needs to rest his toe then play Mascherano or Sissoko alongside Alonso. Possibly Babel for Riise at left mid, but other than that, keep the same team. Sunderland just got beat 3-0 by Wigan. They will be a different proposition in front of their own fans. I expect a tough battle, though once it has calmed down a bit our superior quality should tell. Imperative to get the three points.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I would love to see Lucas Leiva, Yossi Benayoun Mascherano and Ryan Babel start for this game. We can rest Alonso, Gerrard, Pennant for this game. Buy 'Championship Manager 2007 - Lunatic Edition' and play them. There is a message that has been drummed into us since Arsenal went unbeaten followed by Chelsea taking up the baton - every game must be taken seriously to make sure we dont fall off the pace

There is a message that has been drummed into us since Arsenal went unbeaten followed by Chelsea taking up the baton - every game must be taken seriously to make sure we dont fall off the pace I seriously think a midfield with Leiva, Benayoun, Mascherano and Babel will be strong enough to beat them.
CarraLegend Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 We're going to absolutely t*** these. 1-0 Agger, 93minutes.
Sion Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I don't give a f*** about mockering, they're f***ing s**** and if we don't beat them we'll have played terrible. I mean look at the team they played vs Wigan, Sunderland: Gordon, Halford, Nosworthy, McShane (Anderson 62), Wallace, Richardson, Etuhu, Yorke (Collins 46), Murphy, Chopra, Stokes (Miller 46). That's bloody awful. 4-0 Liverpool.
Smith Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I don't give a f*** about mockering, they're f***ing s**** and if we don't beat them we'll have played terrible. stressederic Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I seriously think a midfield with Leiva, Benayoun, Mascherano and Babel will be strong enough to beat them. Levia has never played before in the Premiership, away at one of the newly promoted teams who are likely to try kicking us up in the air all day isn't the place to give him his debut.
Gilps Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is Nyron Nosworthy as hopeless at centre half as he was at right back last time they were in the division? (Yes I do realise that means he'll now play a blinder) Whatever did happen to Stephen Wright?
Guest Anders Honoré Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 we're playing away - withour record, we need to field the strongest team we can to ensure the 3 points
Kahnee Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 I seriously think a midfield with Leiva, Benayoun, Mascherano and Babel will be strong enough to beat them. Masch aside, they'd get kicked off the park. This isn't going to be the match to start introducing youngsters/newbies. Let Pennant and Riise run at them all day and just pepper the area with crosses, with Crouch and Voronin running rings around the CBs And you want Alonso and Sissoko in the middle
smithdown Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Nyron Nosworthy He works in the Kabin with Rita doesn't he?
Stevie H Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 Is Nyron Nosworthy as hopeless at centre half as he was at right back last time they were in the division? (Yes I do realise that means he'll now play a blinder) Whatever did happen to Stephen Wright?not at all, nosworthy's converted to a capable centreback. sunderland's midfield however is f***ing s****.
sean Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 They'll work hard for an hour or so with not a great deal of attacking threat. We must do 2 things and we'll win the game:Stay patientDon't give them anything to hang onto
Gilps Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 sunderland's midfield however is f***ing s****. Their midfield does look shockingly bad. We've got to be looking at comfortably dominating there even sans Gerrard.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 If we dont break their spine with an early goal then we will have to kick them harder than they will kick us, once we win the early physical battle then our ability should see us home comfortably.
Stevie H Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 not sure where this idea that they're going to kick f*** out of us has come from. dwight yorke? kieran richardson? thingy halford? chopra? they're not the most physical team, only etuhu is any type of a clogger.
Barnes' left foot Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 The only change I'd make to the team that started against Chelsea (assuming that Masch comes in for Gerrard) would be to replace Kuyt with Crouch. Don't get me wrong, I think Kuyt's been playing well recently, but looking at how the Sunderland defence couldn't handle Heskey last weekend, Crouch would cause them even more problems.
JohnnyH Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 He's just scored his first goal of the season with Holland. He should be left to play and pour off the confidence of that first goal.
